It never even occurred to me to ask or to hide it. He might have seen a picture at some point, he might not have. If he thought anything in particular about it on the day of, I sure don’t remember him saying so. We’re just not the sort of family that cares much about clothing, I guess. we all have shirts we’ve owned for a decade or so, things like that.

Dad didn’t want to see it until the day – and then he cried, which made me cry too!

My dad totally spazzed like a week before going shopping that I might not wear white, so he basically demanded to see the pictures after we went shopping haha. I didn’t go with white… my dress is light gold and black. He seems to be dealing with that okay.

That sounds really sweet 🙂 I took my mom and dad dress shopping with me on my first trip. I went on a few more trips and ended up deciding on a dress that the three of us loved at the first shop haha. He hates shopping but really loved sharing the experience with us 🙂 He took pictures for me too which was pivotal when I had to make a decision.

My mom told me after dress shopping that my dad was actually a little dissapointed that I did not ask him to go with. But I wanted it to be a suprise, which my mom ruined by showing him pictures, oh well.

My Dad didn’t want to see anything associated to my wedding look prior to the wedding. I was Skyping my Mom my hair and makeup trial and my Dad left the room. He said he wanted to be surprised the day of.
I kind of wish I did a first look with my Dad on my wedding day. I remember his face when he first saw me but I wish I had a picture of it.

- Wedding: September 2016 - Cambridge Mill
Slingshot: I showed my dad photos because I was so excited about it haha, hard not to show too many people! I am not sure I will show him the final look as I will be altering the necklike and back.

My dad didn’t want to see it until the day of the wedding. We did a “first look” before the wedding.

This is a really interesting thread to me – I didn’t even think about giving my Dad a choice. In hindsight now I guess I wish I had. I’m tight with my dad, but he lives 900 miles away. So I just texted the pic as soon as I had it. He immediately called and said he liked it. But I think it’s possible he would have preferred to wait.

I never considered not showing the dress to my dad beforehand. He wasn’t overly interested, they prob all look the same to him. I showed everyone a pic of my dress except my husband. I even harassed co workers with pics when I was still deciding, lol.

I’m in Australia and my parents are in the UK. They are coming here for the wedding but obviously neither of them have seen my dress yet in person. Mum has seen pictures but we decided not to show them to dad. I think he will cry, he’s got really emotional in his old age! I’m really excited for both of them to see.

My dad came to my second fitting and cried =)

My dad asked to see pictures as soon as I came home from the store. He’s not very traditional, but he loved my dress.

Yes! My Dad wanted to know what I was planning for everything. Also, my dress was a surprise to my guests and extended family only. My husband, family, and bridesmaids all saw my dress before the day of the wedding.
