Anyone that likes makeup – ever hear of Ipsy subscriptions? I have one, they send you makeup samples in the mail every month for $10 a month. I love it. Great way to sample stuff!

I use Clinique foundation and powder because I can’t find any other brand that works as well with my dry, pale skin. I also use DDF face moisturizer, which is like $40 but totally worth the money. I alternate between Lorac (it was a free sample) and Clinique mascara right now but I have had tons of drugstore brand mascaras that work great. I usually use drugstore eye shadow, blush, and eyeliner though. My favorite eyeliner is CG Perfect Point.

I have super-sensitive skin, so I have to use high-end brands for my eyeshadow/liner, undereye concealer, and foundation (though Clinique’s “stay matte” foundation only costs slightly more than the nicer drugstore ones), but there’s a fair amount of drugstore stuff that I like just as much or more than the expensive ones!

Physicians formula–their mosaic powder and bronzer are awesome.  I prefer them over the ones that cost 2-3x the price!

Almay–there’s two concealers that actually contain salicylic acid and help heal blemishes, one is a stick and one is liquid/cream.  They don’t last forever like department store brands, but I find that if I have a blemish that is still showing after using my concealer/foundation, I dab a little of the Almay concealer on top before the finishing powder.

Cerave–makes a great foaming cleanser and oil-free moisturizer.  Walgreens and CVS carry it.  My derm recommended these and the moisturizer works on your body or face.

Maybelline–great mascaras!  Even the most expensive mascara will start to get clumpy after a month or so of air exposure, so I just buy a new Maybelline mascara every month or so and only have to drop $7 or so.

Sonia Kashuk brushes are also excellent, I like them better than the Sephora professional brushes I’ve bought.

My favorite drugstore product is L’Oreal HIP gel eyeliner. The brush is incredible and is far better than any gel liner I’ve tried.

ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit – $3 One of the best I’ve ever come across and at the price point no one can beat it.

Right now ELF is having a huge 1/3 off sale. http://www.eyeslipsface.com.

Mascara Loreal Luminious – hands down I don’t think I’ll every try another mascara. This one is perfect everytime

OPI nail polishes – No explaination needed.

I love the Revlon Lipsticks too.

Milani makes some great eyeliners, lip glosses and eye shadows.

This is awesome! I’m a makeup snob, I have my favourites that I won’t ever shy away from but I’m trying to get into drugstore brands. I really love Essie nail polish and I find it’s the same quality as OPI so at least I’m getting there!

Because of my super sensitive skin, I stick to high-end foundations (Laura Mercier is heaven-sent!), but for everything else, I go with basic brands. Mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, etc. are all Target/drugstore brands. My only other splurge is lipgloss. I’m kind of picky about texture, taste, and color.

I’m a makeup artist and have used mostly drugstore brands for years!  I also love ELF which is even less expensive than drugstore brands. (great shadows, lipsticks, powders, etc)  I’m convinced that about 98% of the time there is a drugstore dupe for a high end product.  I love rite aid for myself, because if I don’t love a color… I can take it back! woo hoo!

I used to be all about the drugstore stuff but I was so so blind. I wish my skin accepted it.  Now i use Elizabeth arden flawless finish sponge on cream and pressed powder, Elizabeth Arden concealer, alternate between urban decay and Elizabeth Arden for blush. And I swear by diorshow mascara. AbsoluteLy love it !!

I buy most of my stuff from the drugstore because we don’t have a Sephora or anything in my small town!

I admit I love NARS and Bobbi Brown. Very expensive but such nice colors!

However I love Maybeline for mascara and I will never switch brands, same with Mercer for transclucent powder.

@SupermansSweetheart:  +1 on the NYX.  I adore their HD Concealer and Set It and Don’t Fret It finishing powder.

I’m still a bit of a makeup snob, but not as much as I used to be.  I use what works for me, not something that I bought just for the brand new.  These are my current go-to staples:

  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted BB Moisturizer

  • NYX HD Concealer

  • NYX Set It and Don’t Fret It finishing powder OR Bare Escentuals mineral veil

  • This amazing Sephora brand bronzer I just ADORE!

  • Clinque High Impact Mascara & Maybelline Great Length mascara (I use both – Maybelline on the base & Clinque for length)

  • Bare Escentuals blush

My eye shadows vary like WOAH!  Everything from Smashbox to MAC to Lorac to Cover Girl.  I have a lot of Ulta brand eyeshadows, too.

I use a combination of Chanel,Trish McEvoy and drugstore makeup. I use Chanel for foundation (it smells so good and works well for me). I use Trish for concealer, powder, blush, and bronzer- mainly because it works well for me and I adore the planner system she uses.

My eyeliner, mascara (I love mascara and always have like 4 different kinds and layer them), some lipsticks, some eyeshadows, and face lotion are drugstore brands. I switch brands just about every time I run out because it’s fun to try new makeup and not worry about spending $40 on something new I might not like! I also have a Birchbox subscription so that’s another fun way to try out new makeup!

When it comes to nail polish, I only buy Essie, OPI, and Orchid (which is H-E-B exclusive inexpensive nail polish but works really really well). I have found those three are truly the best nail polishes for me.

The brushes I use are Eco Tools for everything except blush, which is a Trish McEvoy brush!
