It happened on Saturday afternoon in my favourite park.
My Fiance (yay!) woke up early on Saturday morning and went out to ‘get milk’, but really went to call my dad to tell him his plans. Later that day we went for a walk around the park, as we do most weekends. My favourite part of the park is a lake with these old Victorian statues of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. We usually go to that part first but he said he wanted to walk the long way around and go to that part last.
So we spend about an hour waliking around. It’s freezing and muddy, so the park is quite deserted – lucky for him as it’s usually filled with screaming kids! We finally get to the lake and we sit on a bench. He tells me how happy he is and how much he loves me and that’s when he gets down on one knee! He said many other lovely things and ended with ‘will you marry me?’, pulling out the ring of my dreams, that he picked himself – I had no idea he had it at all or had even gone ring shopping. It’s such a blur and I was crying quite a bit, but I remember saying yes.
He then pulled out a hot flask of tea and mini bottles of champagne and glasses to celebrate. It was perfect!
Here is my lovely rose gold, diamond solitaire. It’s 0.7, colour D, SI1.
