- Wedding: June 2013
Well, actually I’ve been engaged for a little over a week now, but have been without the internet so I couldn’t write about it.
It was Jan. 18th 2011, a month before him and I became “official” 2 years ago. We had been talking about life after college, marriage, babies (!!) and other things for quite a bit now, but I always wanted to be able to move in with him when we became engaged. Well that didn’t quite work out now, but I’m alright with it.
So on Jan 18th, he took me to his uni.’s parking lot where he asked me to become his girlfriend. There were no big to-do’s, messages in the sky, or candles/etc which was perfect for me. I was leaving for France 6 days after this, on the 24th and he was adamant about proposing before I left. Why? I have no idea, and it still puzzles me. Saying that he had to go into the student center for some fraternity recruitment stuff, he pulled into a parking lot and just sat there. Meanwhile, I was getting my purse ready, unbuckling etc, to get out of the car. When he didn’t make any effort to leave, I turned to him and said “Are we going in?” He said “No,” and then proceeded to ask if I remembered this spot (Duh!) and said all sorts of sweet things.
NOW, I read stories of proposals saying that they couldn’t remember a word that their then-BF was saying because they were too emotional and I always thought, “I won’t be like that! I can totally remember it!” Well, this is me eating my words ladies…I cannot remember a thing! It makes me sad really, all I know is once he said my full name and took my hand, my brain just turned off! I wish I was listening more, or maybe crying less but oh well!
One thing I do remember though saying between tears and kisses was “Are you serious? Are you teasing me? Is this real?” (He would joke with me about it, similar to Jim & Pam on ‘The Office’) Well, it was real! 🙂
Enough blabbing, heres the pics!
