On Friday, I wrote a quick (yet super excited!!) post about how my wonderful bf proposed to me. After months of waiting, I finally have a gorgeous engagement ring on my finger, and proudly prance around randomly singing “I’m engaged!!” and using the word “Fiance” at every chance I get.
The proposal was absolutely beautiful, everything I’ve ever wanted 🙂 He lit about two dozen candles all around the apartment, with soft music playing in the background. We danced for a while, and he told me how much he cared, and loved me, and how much I meant to him. It was especially wonderful because we hadn’t really seen eachother in 3 weeks, so it felt amazing to just hold him. As we’re dancing slowly, he suddenly put his hand in his pocket, at which point I think to myself a mix of “AAHHHHH is it going to happen???” and “no… keep it together… no expectations!!”. He was sneaky and made a comment that had me turn around; when I looked back at him, there he was, with the most GORGEOUSSS ring I’ve ever seen. He smiled, and simply said “A, will you be my wife?”.
All I could do was nod!!! I’ve never been SO speachless in my life. I don’t think I said a word for five minutes!! He still makes fun of me of the time he first told me he loves me, and it took ‘forever’ for me to say it back (at which point, his heart had stopped, and he had no idea what to think!). I’ve come to realize that what seems like a few seconds for me can actually seem like MUCH longer when you’re waiting for an answer. So I nodded, shaking my head like crazy, to make sure he knew (despite me not being able to get the words out yet!). He put the ring on my finger, and I threw my arms around him. At this point, I started to CRY!! Tears of joy, and love, and happiness, and relief (it had been a long waiting game!) and more tears of love. He then looked deep in my eyes, and told me just how much he loves me, and how he can’t wait for me to be his wife forever. And again, he asked me “Will you be my bride? You haven’t actually said it yet” and I was finally able to say “Yes!!”. We spent the rest of hte night dancing, drinking really delicious (and expensive!!) champagne, and admiring the beautiful ring. It was TRULY a night to remember!!!!
Without further ado, here’s a picture of the ring! Sorry for the bad quality, it’s with my phone – will post much better pictures soon 🙂
