If you read my last post, I was thinking that I would get proposed to on our mini vacation. On our way there he straight away told me that he will not propose during this trip. He didn’t want the whole vacation to be about engagement and I much appreciate that now!
A little background on our first date will help you understand why he proposed the way he did. On our first date, we went to a lovely Italian restaurant. Afterwards, we did not want to end our conversation, so we went into Starbucks to talk. It was a busy night there, and the only table they had available was the table in a corner by the bathroom. I called it the ‘reject table’ because nobody wants to drink their coffee by the bathroom lol.
A couple of minutes later a young woman walks over to us grinning and asked us if it was our first date. We looked at her like crazy and said yes. She then proceeded to tell us that the table we are sitting in is lucky. One year ago to the day she went on her first date with her fiance, and now they are engaged. I giggled like a school girl, and my date stared at me terrified!!
Fast forward to yesterday. We decided to go to that Starbucks to study and do some work. We ordered our coffee, sat at (our) table, like we always do, and started studying. About half an hour passed when all of a sudden he pulls out this large box and said, when we were at the mall last week there was something you really liked, so I bought it for you. I responded with, Louboutins?!! I tore through the wrapping paper and the box which had my tiny little box inside it.
He took it out, and started talking about our first date, and these past four years, and I started crying hysterically. It was the most special proposal I could have ever expected. We celebrated with friends last night, and will celebrate with family tonight.
