CONGRATS! Let’s see the ring 🙂 I wear mine all the time but I know a lot of Bees do not. I do everything but shower with it on. You should have to tug it a bit to get it off. I would bring it to a jeweler and ask them. The store he bought it from may size it for free.

i wear mine all the time–shower, gym, bed, etc. not a lot can hurt a diamond and mine’s on snug enough that it’s a hassle to take on and off all the time.

it’s pretty =]

i take mine off when i workout, sleep. shower and clean. I am a nursing student and i take it off when i go to school. why would you want to wear it when it could get germs in it, when you are sweating, etc? so it can become a cesspool for bacteria? soap and hot water does not kill everything in the crack of the setting unless you use a brush to get into the setting itself when you wash your hands. Don’t get me started on those fake nails.

First of all get that baby insured! (if it’s not already) It’s gorgeous!!! I would probably invest in a good ring holder or ring box so that you have a place to put your ring EVERY time you take it off. I wouldn’t recommend wearing it to the gym (it would just get in the way) or in the shower (it can make a diamond look really cloudy because of all the soap residue) or anywhere that will be very hard on your hands…like moving. I would definitely go see your jeweler to see about getting it resized maybe a 1/4 or a 1/2 size if it’s just a little too loose feeling. Plus they’ll be able to help you learn about how to clean/care for it. A lot of places will clean your ring professionally for free if you bring it inLaughing

Gorgeous ring!

I don’t sleep with mine on.  I also don’t shower or clean with it on- even though a diamond is a hard surface, it doesn’t meam chemicals wouldn’t damage it.

congrats! I take mine off at night and dont put it back on until i am done getting ready the next morning. That way, I dont get hairspray, styling products on it. I clean mine every few days but I am an art teacher and it gets dirty quickly. You are actually NOT supposed to shower with it on because the sulfur in shampoo can damage the setting. One thing to remember when getting it sized, dont get it so tight that its impossible to get off now because in the summer, your hands swell with humidity and it may not come off then. My ring fits perfect in the summer and is slightly loose in the winter (not that it falls off, it just moves a bit)

I tend not to cook, work out, shower, sleep, or clean with mine on. Mostly because it’s a distraction for me – it’s platinum and I’d rather TRY to keep it nice for a little while.  And cooking? ick!

FH was bothered by it at first, but c’mon I want to take good care of it.  And I cook a lot 🙂

Sometimes I forget to put it back on after something like cleaning or cooking, and that’s just fine with me.  It’s beautiful, but not a necessity in every day errand running for me.

The best way to clean it is toothpaste! It’s the old way of doing things but it really works. The type of paste doesn’t matter but I wouldn’t use a bleaching one on them/it. You can really tell right after you rinse it off!

i wear mine 24/7. i drop it in a mug with boiling water and some dish soap when i notice its getting dull and scrub it with a toothbrush- trust me it looks way cleaner than when a jeweler does it! that removes all oils that your hand and lotions left behind

insure it! put it on your renters or homeowners insurance if you have it, youll need an appraisal

also, if that is white gold, you’ll need to get it rhodium plated about every 6 months. the jeweler your fiance got it from should do it for free or very cheap
