Hi ladies! I’m a longtime lurker and first-time poster. I got engaged in May and am just getting around to officially joining the community. FH and I have been together for just over 2.5 years and have been living together for 1.
We got the ring custom-designed together, but he surprised me with the proposal. We took an overnight trip to a beachtown and he popped the question by the water! It was just the two of us and couldn’t have been more perfect for us.
I’m a little intimidated by wedding planning, so I haven’t started anything yet, but I am really excited to learn from the Beehive. Looking forward to meeting you!
Here’s a shot of my new sparkler! We decided on a rose gold pave band and a hidden halo. The prongs holding the diamond are platinum for durability. I have a 4.75 finger for reference:

Congrats, lovely ring!
As someone planning to propose formally in a theatrical kind of way – may I ask more details about how he propsed?
When did you figure out he was going to ask?
How did you feel leading up to the water’s edge? To the overnight trip?

leztrythisagain : Happy to answer q’s! I was surprised despite kind of having an idea that something was going to happen. I could tell something was up the morning we left because he kept angling away from me in the car and while walking. That was because the ring box was in his pocket! I had a feeling it was going to happen that weekend because the rest of the month was going to be really busy. He kept the desitination a surprise (we ended up getting engaged a couple towns over from where he asked me to be his girlfriend) – and that was a pretty good indicator. When we went down to the water I had a sixth sense that he was going to ask. I was a little nervous because I wanted it to happen and I didn’t want to be disappointed. It was very romantic and really sweet!
