@Ninteenthchance:  Stats is tough, but it is even tougher if you learn from someone who hasn’t done it and can’t explain the “big picture” of what you are doing. I do stats for a living and teach it at a graduate school. If you give me an example of the type of class you are working on and where you are struggling, I can help. Feel free to PM me as well.

I am in statistics now and it is a bit tricky…and I do pretty well in school. Thankfully, I am engaged to a physicist so he helps me on the weekends! Good luck!

I’ve taught college-level statistics several times so I know a lot of students struggle with it! Keep going to the professor or TA or whoever you can for help. A lot of it is really just memorization and knowing what tests to use and when. I guess that’s not really helpful, but good luck!

I had to take that flippin class twice.  Can you take the incomplete and take it at a nearby Community College.  I did that, my A at CC helped more than the D i was getting.

If I was closer, I would help! I’m generally awful at math, but did excellent in statistics somehow. I second what a PP said & you can message me with a problem, I might be able to help!

Maybe try a new tutor. Sometimes, you need to find that right person that can explain it to you.

I’ve taken 2-3 stats classes. I always understoon them until I walk away and POOF, It’s like I’ve never seen the stuff before. Most frustrating thing was right after the prof taught something, I could immediately explain it to somone else. So I knew it well enough to teach someone else. Then I would get home and the homework was like a forgein language.

Seriously the only thing that got me through it was “The Cartoon Guide to Stats”

I know I am a couple days late but I agree with the PPs. I would also make sure to go to your professor’s office hours and try to get help from them personally. Honestly, that could be the difference between a 69% and a 70% if they can see you are LEGITIMATELY trying your best. Also, continue your tutoring sessions, but see if you can find another tutor. Just like another PP said, it might not be at the fault of your tutor, but you guys may not be meshing well. It happens.

Glad to read the update on your grade. Keep chugging along and you will make it. Good luck
