Ok bees, I’m gonna try to make this not too long. I ordered my dress back in January 2013. After that, I went on WW and lost a lot of weight. Upon ordering my dress back in January,they said to me it would be “No problem to order you a smaller size in this dress, and just do an even exchange.” So, I thought, “great!”. My dress came the following May, and it was beautiful, I loved it!!
Come, November, 2013- I had lost about 70 pounds and needed a smaller size. I told the people at Alfred Angelo that I would need a bit of time to think about which size to go with, as I was measuring right between a 16 and an 18. About two weeks later, I called the store, and told the girl who answered how anxious I was about choosing a size, but that I was gonna go with size 18-just to be safe! And that we could always alter it to make it smaller! She told me that I should expect a call in March saying the dress was ready.
Today-Im off from work, and in total “wedding planning head” I spent most of my morning crunching numbers, making lists, figuring out smaller details. I decided it may be in my best interest to give AA a call, just to see how my dress was coming along, see if there was any sort of esitmated day I could expect it (assuming it should be ANY day now, seeing as it’s March.) when I called, I gave the girl who answered my name, she kind of took a very long pause (as though she was looking for something, and then muttered “that’s weird”…) (every brides dream come true, right?) she puts me on hold, and then the manager, whom I now know pretty well gets on the phone, and goes “Hi A—-! You were supposed to let us know what size you wanted to go with!” my jaw hits the floor “I say back, um, I did…like 5 months ago” I spoke to one of your associates, and told her I wanted to go with the 18″ the manager starts stumbling over her words and basically just keeps repeating herself over and over saying “she knew nothing about it…” So of course I turn completely hysterical. I’m crying, and speaking loudly at this point, completely disgusted that something like this is happening to my dress (which,by the way is completely PAID IN FULL for) the manager starts to say “well,I’m obviously going to do everything I can for you, we will put a rush on it, I will call my district manager and blah, blah, blah…” so I respond with “fine, call me by the end of today and let me know what’s going on with my wedding gown” her response-“well,sometimes it can take up to 48hrs to hear back from them.”
I’m feeling incredibly disappointed, nervous and angry right now. This is completely unacceptable. My wedding is in three months, and now on top of all the other stress, I have to worry that my dress is going to come at the last minute (if it even gets here at all), and alterations will have to definitely be rushed,which probably means whoever does the alterations will up charge me for the rush. (God knows Im not having AA do my alterations at this point…)
