Tomorrow’s my SO’s birthday :):). He told me a long time ago he’s never had a surprise party before, so I’ve “secertly” arranged for a get together with his friends at a bowling alley (call it lame if you want but he LOVES bowling). I think one of them might have spilled the beans because he’s been hinting he knows about it…when I asked him where he wanted to go to dinner he said “oh we should go here just in case we’re in THIS AREA anyway *wink wink nudge nudge*.” But surprise or not it’ll still be a good time. So I’m taking him to dinner then bowling then probably out to the bars afterwards. Last Sunday I invited his parents over and we had another celebration dinner with them at our place. I also got him this really amazing jacket he’s been eyeing as a present.
Now here’s the problem. My birthday is next month and we’ll be in Disney World for it. He’s taking me to Victoria and Albert’s, which has been a childhood dream of mine FOREVER. It’s Disney’s flagship resteraunt and will be very very expensive so I’m chipping in too…but it makes me worried I’m not doing enough for him. I mean he gets dinner and bowling and beers…but I get DISNEY WORLD and a five course gorumet meal. Plus he cooked his own birthday dinner on Sunday. I tried to cook. I really really did. But he’s been the cook in our household since we moved in together and that’s because i’m…just…not that good. I undercooked everything and made such a mess we had to throw it all out…even his birthday cake, which was burned on the top and runny in the center. I was in tears by the end of it. He ended up with a birthday key lime pie from Publix, which he said was delicious, but I still feel bad about it.
Think I should do something else to make his day special?
