Depends on their gender, somewhat. My friends have a grey little kitty named Winston, and SHE is adorable!

We have a grey cat and my Fiance with his amazing name capability named him “Smokey”!

A black cat I would name “Midnight”

Doesn’t matter what you decide to call a cat, no soul on this earth can lay claim to a feline…I wanted to name my korat Cleo…she wouldn’t even respond to it…guess what she does respond to?  Smoo, the gorgeous grey cat with eyes like wet lotus petals, yeah, her name is Smoo…stupid cat, thinks it knows better than me

@Nona99:  Lol! My little furkid knows her name actually quite well. We thought maybe it was the tone at first, but nope. You can say her name, normal conversation tone, and she looks up and meows at you.

Keeping it simple, I like Shadow and Toby.  A few clever ones I’ve heard before are Will Feral, Kunta Kitty, Leo deCatrio

@Nona99:  That’s too funny that the cat picked its own name!  “I will not respond to Cleo.  You must call me Smoo.”

If you’re anything like me, you’ll form whatever you name them into a billion nicknames along with it… My username is actually a nickname that derived from Kitty’s “legal” name.

We have a black cat named Stanley. I love old person names on pets. Lol. Clifford, Marvin, Frank, Stewart, Harold, Seymour, Milton, etc.

I like old people names for cats – our cat is named Rupert. I also think it is funny when they are common people names – we were so close to naming our dog David. (We are cardinals fans, and every time they win the world series Fiance agrees to get another pet and name him/her after a player on the team. It was going to be after David Freese, but we went with Yadier (we call him Yadi) instead.
