- Wedding: September 2012
Alright, so perhaps i’m not getting married tomorrow morning, but the notion still applies!
I have taken it upon myself to start this little blog for the following reasons: 1) a blog where I may post all of the little ideas I am tinkering with is a much better mode of organization than the countless peices of paper scattered throughout the house; 2) a blog allows everyone to be involved in the planning, and it allows people to give their input and advice; and 3) finally, it’s fun!
So let’s get to it!
So far, Chris and I have figured out a few things. First, we’ve created a mish-mash of ideas and put them into one creation — our wedding! I’ve secretly named this mish-mash, ‘Music is for the love birds’. Oh, and it comes with a vintage twist in shades of fall. I’m not sure if most themes get as complicated or wordy, but this just works for us!
Today we had the pleasure of looking at our first possible reception revenue, and to be honest, we’re fairly smitten with it! The Wainwright Hotel located in Heritage Park has the exact kind of ambiance we are looking for — wooden tables, gentle lighting with lots of windows, oh, and did I mention it’s entirely vintage! The hotel stands two stories and has a wrap around balcony on both levels. When we first walked in we encountered a large foyer with a spacious coatroom, and much to Chris’s excitement, an old phone booth! A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor which we figured could be used for dancing, whereas the dining room will fit all of our wonderful guests (and more).
It was the first time I had ever been to Heritage Park, and it was sweet to see all of the families having a great time. I got as excited as the little tykes everytime the old train would come by! Chris and I are discussing whether or not we would like to hold the ceremony somewhere on the grounds, as well. After all, it would be pretty convenient! There were a few grassy areas hosting spacious gazebos that would certainly be ideal!
Well, that’s all for this post. Let’s see if I can figure out how to include pictures, now…
