Hey All,
I saw a bee months ago post about going to the bridal shop alone, just to get an idea of what she liked/didn’t before going with her bridal party and getting the extra opinions. I thought about it and I’m going today by myself for the first fitting ever! I think it’s a great way to get an idea of silhouettes etc so I can narrow down when I have my sisters and bridesmaids with me. I’m also looking to lose a good amount of elle bee’s so I want to get an idea at this size I wear now..
Question is: Anyone else do this!? Any suggestions for me?
Wish me luck!

I would make sure to take pictures and if I wasn’t so indecisive and cared so much about my moms opinion I would have gone alone too. It is really a good idea, like you said, to see what YOU like. Don’t be afraid to try on dresses you might not normally try on. You want to see what all the different styles look like on your body so it will be easier to narrow down when the time does come to take your group with you.

I went alone. I took pics in every dress. I felt so much better bc I didn’t have the pressure of added opinions. I know what looks good on me, what I like. good luck and have fun!

I went alone for the first time and it was the BEST decision. I wanted to buy the dress with my parents, but I live in the south and they are in the north so there weren’t too many chances. I wanted to see what I liked and didn’t like (and I have also recently lost 20 pounds and I wasn’t sure how I would fit into the samples, but they fit great and were even a little big!). I wanted only positive experiences when I went shopping with my parents. What was funny was that when I did go shopping with the rents, my dad was the one who picked out the dress I ended up getting :).

I also suggest trying to get an appointment in the middle of the week when most people are working. I was the only bride in the store, and it was SO relaxed. I went on a Saturday with my parents and it was so much busier!

LoveLikeCrazy: Thank so much for asking! It was a great experience… aside the fact that it was such a small boutique they really had very few items in my size.. I think I actually got to try on 2 dresses and the rest were like a sample 6 ha! My consultant was so gracious and made me feel comfortable. I loved the experience so much I made another appointment ad one of the biggest stores in town next week tuesday ๐
