- Wedding: September 2010
Originally I had planned to get real flowers. We’re having a very small wedding, so I only need a bouquet for myself, two small bouquets for my daughter & future step-daughter, and two bouts for Fiance & his son. I figured they wouldn’t cost much, since I need so few flowers. Also, we’re getting married in GA, about 4 hours from our home in NC. I have yet to even talk to a florist there.
So, today on my lunch break, I walked by a florist that I walk by about 2 times a month, and their work is gorgeous. All I could think is “I wish they could do my flowers”….. I decided to go on in & talk to the lady. She had loads of gorgeous silk flowers in stock, in the shop. I started asking her how much she’d charge me for all of the above mentioned, to do it in silk, so I could just take the flowers with me & be done with this. She first started to tell me it would be way to expensive, that I’d be better to go fresh. But, after chatting a bit further, and showing her what I really wanted……she’s going to do everything for $100!!! Yay!!!
I’m actually pretty excited. I never thought I’d be a silk flower bride, and then I thought if I did go that route I’d just DIY it. But, for the $100, and the great quality of the flowers, it’s totally worth it to me.
