@ellabee: I ripped my veil too. I feel much better knowing I’m not the only one. As yet I’m not selling anything.

I’m right there with you!   I have very little emotional attachment to anything from the wedding that I slaved over (table numbers?  Place cards?  meh)   I don’t think I’m going to sell anything as there really isn’t anything worth selling but I totally understand your feelings!

@ellabee: Well done you for sewing the detail on yourself. Mine too was cathedral length and I think I stood on it. It was breezy so it would get under my feet. But thinking about it now, someone else would’ve had to stand on it for me to then move and it then rip, surely?

im just like you i save little things to scrap book or pur in memory boxes. or to just treasure<3 i saved little things from the wedding to put in the scrap book a couple flower petals, dried out one of the bouquets, but im seling everything evn my dress, everyone is really shocked at that!!! but if i have a daughter i know my dress will be outdated in 20-30 years, and what am i going to do with it??? i hate seeing the big 80’s dresses being sold now and the seler is asking 500 for the god awful dress as if it was brand new! im all for vintage but not like that lol!

I sold everything except for my dress.   I was so glad to clean out my spare room.  Mom teased me, but I didn’t really need 70 tealight holders and tulle to make my marriage work.   lol

I think I am going to sell mine, but haven’t gotten to that point yet.

I’ll sell everything except my dress and my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses (which they can keep). My dress isn’t actually a wedding dress so I’d like to keep it for future generaions or photoshoots (I’m a photographer). Everything else can go when all is said and done!

I plan on selling my dress, veil, and hair pins because I don’t plan to ever wear them again and seriously doubt that my future daughter will want them 30 years from now.  As much as I love my dress, I’d rather get some money back while it’s still worth something.  I only bought a toss garter and wouldn’t want that back from whoever catches it. The table numbers, card box, short vases, and any other leftover decor can go too.  I’m not attached to any of that stuff.

I’m keeping my jewelry and shoes, because I can wear those again (in fact, I bought and wore my shoes long before getting engaged).  I might try to dry my bouquet or some petals from it but I don’t think I’ll go through the trouble to get it professionally preserved.  And of course, we are keeping the guest book, photos, kiddush cups, and ketubah. 🙂  Those are all I need for the memories

I planned on selling bits and pieces and also eventually selling my dress, but even though the wedding has been almost a year ago now, nothing has been put out for sale yet. Life’s been hectic and chaotic this past year with a lot of health issues, hospital visits and surgery and somehow time flew by. Now I’m worried that I waited to long to sell things.. though I know that’s not really true, as certain things will always be in favor. I’m not quite sure HOW to go about selling my dress though – are you going to put yours out here on Weddingbee, or also elsewhere?
