So last night my boyfreidn brought this thing up: His parents want to go 10 day vacation to turkey, and he wants to go, but he says he doesn’t want to go without me;
His parents invite me to come, but I think it’s manly because he wouldn’t go without me, even if I told him I would like him to go without me, because I can’t pay 850 euros (1000 US $) for a vacation right now, since I’m not working till I finish my degree in june/july.
Well his parents offered to pay for my trip, but I can’t take their money, because I can’t! I don’t want them to think I’m tking advantage of them or something and forcing them to pay just so I can go, so he can go. So I said I wouldn’t take their offer.
My boyfriend then procede to tell me (in private) that he only have 15 days out of work, and he will not stay 10 day in turkey without me, so he offered to pay for my trip too, and don’t mencione it to his parents. And I was like: no! I don’t want you to lie to your parents, and I can’t accept it, it’s too much money for a gift.
And he said: “do you knwo what 800 euros is? Yesterday I went to my grandmothers house and she gave me 200 euros just because she felt like it, and last month I fixed my godmothers tv and she gave 500 euros (without him asking, yeah… his family has money), that’s 700 there! I don’t mind paying, I want you to come.”
I know that 850 euros may no seem much to him, but for me is, because my parents don’t have alot of money, I mean 850 is my mom’s monthly payment, and I can’t ask them for money, since she already makes such an efford to pay my school bills and help me live till I finish my degree. (I have some savings, I’ve worked before, but I don’t want to spend it in vacations, is for an emergency, and besides, it wouldn’t be enought anyway).
What I liked to ask, is what would you do?
