I’m grounded from the Dress and Recap boards that is… I am experiencing yet another reprise of dress regret… and I got married 2 months ago today! There are times I can hold onto the memory of feeling beautiful that day…. and there are times, like right now, that I truly wish I had worn a different dress. Just when I think I’m past dress regret, it rises again like vomit on a tilt-a-whirl.

Awwww, that’s so sad. You should post a pic so we can all praise how glorious I’m sure you looked on your wedding day. What is about your dress you would have changed?

Oh, want to mention that’s fabulous and I’m going to use that one sometime. 😉

@howtobeawife: Grr I feel the same way & we are date twins. Honestly I wish I could go back. I’ve even thought about doing a vow renewal in 5 years. lol

@Sunfire: lol I’m glad you like that line. I bought a plain dress and I added a sparkly sash to it. But honestly, I wish I had gotten the bodice beaded or something. Also, the dress fit me poorly after alterations. I had a seamstress who took it in too much then let it out too much in the boob area, so I feel like my dress looks funny in some photos. On the day of my wedding, I felt like a princess. And I got nostalgic about my dress. I still think I’ll have a hard time when I send it in for donation. But all the same, I just wish I had gotten a sparkly top dress that had a corset back so I would’ve had less fitting issues. I also sort of wish that I hadn’t put on the largest hoopskirt I could find. I should’ve had a more tamed ballgown.
@figgnewton: I am so glad that I’m not the only one who still struggles with this after her wedding! I feel absolutely ridiculous.
Not to sound vain, but I know I looked pretty on my wedding day and I had many people tell me so. For that I am thankful! It would be 10x worse if I had felt ugly that day or if I thought I was ugly in the pictures. For me, it’s more about what I had always hoped I would look like on my wedding day. My biggest mistake was buying the dress on the first day of shopping at the second store because of a time crunch that afternoon.
