- Wedding: September 2012
It is a non-traditionally attired wedding.
My dress is a collaboration between two dresses, the under layer is “dusty shale” and the top layer is “antique” making it a slightly teal light stone/taupe.
I told my bridesmaids ivory, they took that rather loosely though, two dresses are ivory and one is like a more earthy color of my dress. They will all be worn with a charcoal sash.
The bouquets are dried flowers made out of ammobium, lavender, and craspedia.
I’ve put my foot down on black…I don’t know why, but I’ve said no black shoes etc…
The groom and groomsmen are wearing dill pants from J. Crew factory and white button downs with mustard colored bow ties. I like the idea of my dad and my fiance’s Dad (who is also the officiant) wearing the same mustard but in a regular tie.
Flower girl is wearing a taupe dress with silver polka dots.
My mother’s dress is a “shiny grey”…not really silver. If anyone is familiar with the J. Crew wedding collection, it’s aged driftwood.
So, for my dad – he wears pants in sizes that are hard to find…he is in between regular for some stores and big and tall for others. He wears a 40/32. So my color options are kind of slim. As well as I have no idea what color! I wish I could just have him wear the same as the groomsmen, but the largest they have is a 38. I’ve considered going chocolate brown, but I’m afraid that they would look odd against my mom’s grey dress…so I considered charcoal, but then I was afraid my parents would look unattached from the rest of the party.
I’m completely at odds, and I’ve waited until the last minute!
