Our photographers ordering website is set up so authorized users can hide certain pictures from everyone else.
I find this very convenient, as it allows me to hide all the pictures Fiance and I don’t like of ourselves so nobody else can order them and forever memorialize the pictures we dislike!
Has anybody else done stuff like this to ensure that only the best pictures make the cut?

Yes, both our parents wanted full copies of the disk of wedding photos our photographers gave. I refused, and gave them only prints of ones I approved.
DH’s dad loves to show pictures on the tv. The last thing I need is bad pictures of me being blown up on a 50 inch.

@SapphireSun: OH NO! That’s so silly!
Our photographer weeded out MOST of the really bad ones, but there are some that were photographically good, but not so hot of the subjects (us) that still made the cut.
Actually, one of her favorites is also one of my least favorites. I know why she loves it (It really did turn out nice) but I think it makes me look fat! I just keep thinking “If I had just stood up straighter…..”
I just can’t risk people ordering pictures that I hate!

Not with photographer’s pictures but definitely with personal digital pictures. The delete button is my best friend.
You have every right to block access to the pictures you don’t like.

@julies1949: HAHA! You know it! Delete it and it never existed!

@tinylittlebird: Yep, I have a little bit of back fat that everybody says isn’t even noticeable in some pictures, so the photographers probably didn’t think they were “bad” pictures. I just feel like my dress was done up a little too tight, and isn’t flattering in some photos. There’s so many good pictures that I don’t see the harm in not distributing ones I don’t LOVE.

well, we didn’t have engagment pictures, but if we had, i probably would have done the same thing! I’d only let them see the ones i loved of us! so i can’t blame you!

I seriously laughed out loud when I read the topic of this board…lol Only because I would soooo do that! And I’m having mine done Saturday.. so I so WILL do that with ones that I don’t like 🙂

@busybride11: I know, right? There are just some where Fiance and I look goofy (weird eyes, unnatural smile, etc) and ones where I am in an unflattering pose, and I don’t want people to order them thinking that they’re good pictures.
I think this is especially risky when it’s the other person’s family ordering. FI’s family might think Fiance looks great when I look awful, and vice versa. I just don’t want to show up at their house one day and see a picture I really hated hanging on their walls!

Yeah that’s definitely something I would do.

I did this too! My Mother-In-Law wants the CD of all of our wedding pictures but I dont want to give it to her for this same reason!

@julies1949:Sort of 🙂
Since they are of your face, the photographer cannot legally sell/ give them to anybody else without your written permission!
I’m a photographer, and this situation comes up all the time since people see everything differently 🙂
Best solution: talk to your photographer BEFORE the wedding and ask this question!
