I’ve been trying to do some research on invites and I’m not quite sure on some things so questions:
- I was thinking about not sending out STD but then I realized that our wedding is 11.11.11 (which is also veteran’s day I’ve been told) and that most of our family will be coming from out of town. So I should do them, right? And if so, how soon should I do them? We’ve been engaged about five months now and our wedding isn’t until next November after all.
- I was thinking about doing DIY invitations so that they could encorporate our personalities and having them printed off somewhere else. I know they do take a lot of time to do, however so I was wondering when I should approximately start doing them? And where did you bees’ get your inspiration for your invitations?

My daughter and (now) SIL did some nice ones on our computer. They went to the local craft store, picked up paper, scrapbook paper, and it was inexpensive. 🙂

Try this link for inspiration: http://diy.weddingbee.com/category/invitations
Also, google “DIY wedding invitations”, “free wedding invitation template”, and any other variation you can think of.

We got our invites from michaels. it’s one of those you print yourself kits. we bought each on seperate days with the 40% off coupons. so we ended up with 90 invites, rsvps, envelopes for both, AND thank you cards for $75! then all you need is a printer and word. 🙂
we’re also sending our email/facebook Save-The-Date Cards.
when we took into account the price of envelopes, paper, and ink, it actually came out to be more expensive to make and print our own versus the kits.
