I hear you: I haven’t got invitations, I haven’t got our registries finished, I haven’t got rooms blocked off, and I haven’t got x, y and z that The Knot.com is telling me I MUST HAVE DONE RIGHT NOW!!!!

For me, though, it’s because my Fiance is in his last month of school and he’s really, super-stressed out and because of his Crohn’s disease he gets really sick when he gets anxious, so I’m purposefully not doing wedding things until it’s done. It’s so damn hard, but I just don’t want to add to his stress right now.

For you, I suggest taking it one thing at a time. Do something you’re excited about, even if it’s not what you’re *supposed* to have done right now, and that should help pull you out of the rut enough to take on things you’re less than enthusiastic about. Once you start accomplishing stuff, that wonderful accomplished feeling should drive you forward.

lol – wedding SOS! I always wonder how people apply for that show! How badly organized do you have to be to get on!

I’ve totally gone through ups and downs with planning. I recently kicked into high gear, but I was a slacker all of March. Hopefully you’ll feel better soon!

And for motivation – just think of how great it will feel when you check those tasks off your list! Personally – I’m obsessed with to do lists and I LOVE checking things off.

If that’s not enough motivation, you could think up little rewards for yourself? Like – if you get all the “To Dos” for this month finished, you get to buy a new pair of shoes? Or you get rewarded with a movie date night with FI? Just an idea…

@.twist.:  You are not alone.  Oh my gosh sometimes I feel like I’m sooo behind and the days just keep passing with me not getting my butt in the proper gear! Then I’ll go a little with being great with keeping up then I slump again!  And YES, all those planning lists just make me feel like I’m behind too!

I hear ya! I’m stressing about our invitations because we’re making our own and only have half the template finished! And I keep forgetting about booking an additional block of rooms and I have to try and find group transportation!

I like the list, it makes me feel like I’m not totally off track, but I’d love to find a list that was like: Centerpieces, Catering, Venue, and then I could check off an item when it’s done and make sure I’m not missing a detail instead of check out your family wedding traditions, or 3 different look for a baker lines…

Don’t put so much stress on yourself! You have plenty of time for the invites and groomsmen wear.

The registry is actually quite fun…go grab a cocktail with your Fiance and head to your favorite store! We were loathing it, and had a blast. It’s like shopping with fake money!

@.twist.: There you go! and at least you’ve involved your Fiance before, so if he gets pissy you can cite the last time you two went 🙂
