I have previously posted the setting that we picked for my emerald cut engagement ring. Here it is:
In the photo above, that was a CZ stone. Fiance and I have chosen the following stone to use as my center:
That being said, I am still wanting to do the 3-stone emerald cut. Not a 3-stone emerald w/ trapezoids. I prefer emeralds completely. Now, here is where I am getting myself confused – THE BAND of the ring! I have always loved the look of micro pave but I was cautioned to use micro pave diamonds by a friend who was in the jewelry business. She stated that they fall out easily and they also make your ring look tarnished over time.
Originally, I love the clean look of that ring above. And thought I can just add a diamond wedding band. But now, I am thinking that I want more sparkle after seeing this setting:
Should I add diamonds to the band?! Give me some ideas, please!

I absolutely love the 3-stone, all emerald cut look! However, I prefer the 3-stone on a plain band. The pave/micropave looks busy and detracts from the beauty of the center and side stones. Also, with 3 emerald-cut stones, you won’t see much of the band anyway. I would stick with your original plan and do a plain band for the engagement ring and get a pave wedding band. Good luck!

What a beautiful ring you’re going to have! I agree with PP, no pave. Clean and classic, unless you were doing a halo.
Cant wait to see it done!

I have to agree with this bee, OP. I think that setting it in a band with stones will just make it look super busy. You want the focus to be first on the center stone and then on the two side stones.

Yes, yes! I second these two ladies….the “clean” ring is not only classic but very beautiful and will make your diamonds POP! You can always add bling with an eternity wedding band or anniversary band later…it’s harder to take away the diamonds vs adding more later.

Beautiful ring!!! With and without the diamonds on the band, i love the diamonds on the band though, I think a thin diamond band will make the center and the side diamonds look bigger and just gorgeous…like this-) 🙂

I love it 😍!!!!
I have a three stone e-ring myself on a plain platinum band and if I could go back I would’ve gotten it with a thin pave diamond band instead….

I like the plain shank better because it’s so classic and clean. I like that better

I called my jeweler and asked for his input – majority vote is to keep it clean and classic and then to add a diamond wedding band!

This is what I decided on w/ a 1.8-2 mm. white gold, comfort fit band. Diamond band will be added separately.
