I don’t have any experience with this, but my guess is it’s probably stress (even if you don’t feel stressed)!  Give yourself a few days, and I bet you’ll adjust.  If not, it probably doesn’t hurt to take a quick home pregnancy test.

Actually, it’s not so uncommon for the surgery to not be 100% successful.

We can’t tell you whether you are pregnant or not – only a test can!

Just wait another day or two? Pass the weekend and worry about it on Monday? You never know, your body could be stressed even though you never felt any stress!

@12october12:  you’re only a few days late, home pregnancy tests won’t show up for another week.

Wait a week, and if no AF-then pee on a stick

Travel can stress out your system and cause hormonal changes, which could be messing with your period. If you’re already late, a pregnancy would show up on a home pregnancy test, so you could always try taking one.

@MissFireFlower:  That’s not true. Most home pregnancy tests are accurate the first day of a missed period. Some early response tests can be taken up to 5 days before a missed period.

even if you weren’t feeling negative emotional stress, there was a lot of positive emotional stress (it exists) and traveling, especially as far as you did, puts a lot of physical stress on your body. I’m sure everything is fine, but keep us updated!

ETA- you should be fine taking a test now. I’d go run out and get one, it will put your mind at ease. I usually buy a two pack just in case it doesn’t show up in the next couple days.

@MissFireFlower:  That isn’t true.  I took a test 4 days before my period was due and it was a positive.

I’d take a home test.. but my guess is your cycle is off because of traveling and the wedding.

My cycle is very regular, but goes off a few days when I do any sort of air travel.

Just like the post from @crayfish there is always a possibility.

I’ve got a friend that her Mom wound up pregnant 10+ years after her husbands vasectomy…

I’d relax somet though, as travel can easily disrupt a cycle.

@travellingfool:  That’s good to know! I always thought you had to wait a while after you missed your period! My doctor told me I was pregnant with DS when I went in for an unrelated blood test, so I missed the whole “pee on a stick” process!

Take a test — if you’re already late, the test should be positive if you’re pregnant.

It will make you feel better knowing either way!
