Sounds like it may be time to do a pregnancy test.

@atreyu547:  time to test again! If your a week late either way you should get an accurate read on a test.

@atreyu547:  I tested thursday and it was a BFN. Friday night I drank a whole bottle of wine. I checked again tonight BFP.

So if your screwed so am I. I know a couple friends who didn’t find out they were PG until 6 or 7 weeks and they all drank. All of their babies are fine. Early miscarriages are usually due to chromosomal defects not drinking a few drinks (while you don’t know your PG). Go test for sure and good luck.

I study medicine and had a class on this about three weeks ago. The alcohol itself isnt what is toxic, it is an alcohol byproduct (you have two enzymes that degrade alcohol, it is the intermediate product that is bad for the baby and gives you hangovers, hangovers basically are your body reacting to poison).

If you barely got tipsy, and felt ok the next day, there is nothing to worry about. If you got hammeredm but felt ok the next day, I would still say you’re in the clear, if you had the hangover from hell, well odds are the baby is fine. Honestly there is very little proof of what one drunken night does to the baby, except that most women get drunk when they dont know they’re pregnant and the baby turns out fine! Don’t worry too much about it, there is nothing you can do about it now except not letting it happen again. Now, DO NOT SMOKE, I and all graduated doctors are serious about this, and please please please start taking folic acid NOW if you havent already. Hugs about the miscarriage and hope everything turns out well this time if its positive!

I would wait at least 3 weeks if not a full month.  Sometimes your just late even if you aren’t ever late.

@atreyu547:  I’m sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Please try not to stress or worry about things. I’d suggest waiting another week and then seeing your doctor for a blood test. That will give you the most accurate reading. Good luck!
