So, Fiance wakes me up every morning when he leaves for work around 6:30 to say bye and I love you. This morning he had to catch a flight interstate and will be away for a week (I’m unemployed ugh). I wake up suddenly and he’s not in bed, I look at the clock saying 8:30 and figure he must have left without saying bye, because he had to get up super early to catch the flight. I texted him that he didn’t say bye, and when he lands he responds that we had a full conversation where I said I’d sort out a few things this week for the wedding while he’s away and I’ll see him Friday! I don’t have any recollection of this conversation, or him leaving (normally I’m at least awake enough to mumble bye and hear the front door close). I’m losing my mind! Has this happened to anyone else?

My Fiance works shift work, he leaves at odd/early hours and returns at odd/early hours. Im so used to it now that most times I dont even wake up when he gets into bed or leaves. Apparently we occaisionally have conversations aswell. haha

That’s actually very common if you wake up mid-sleep cycle. Your brain doesn’t fully regain conciousness so even though you react as though you’re awake your brain doesn’t record the data and you don’t save any memories of it. It’s nothing to be worried about!

Yes! My Fiance calls every morning to talk to me on his drive to work at around 5:20AM (it’s a long drive). I go back to sleep after we hang up and when I wake up later around 10 I don’t really remember talking much but he always talks about the funny stuff I say when I’m half asleep!

SilverWire: Oh, I didn’t know that! It just freaked me oit that I didn’t know ANYTHING about the conversation or him leaving the house. At first I thought he was joking about the whole thing, but that’s not really his sense of humour.
