- Wedding: November 2011
The wedding was P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
The tiny miniscule things that weren’t planned made it even more perfect. Especially my dad’s cell phone going off while we were standing there waiting for him to give me away! No one in the back heard it, but everyone up front was laughing, including me. Some of the “tougher” groomsmen appreciated it because it lightened up the moment.
Seeing the love of my life standing there made all my nerves disappear. From that point on, I just let everything happen and I didn’t have a care in the world. The rest of the day was effortless for me.
The speeches were great, the food was yummy, and the people were partying!
I’m not going to say nothing went wrong, because there were a few things that could have gone a little smoother (i.e. finding out my dress was a bit too long when I was walking up the steps at the end of the aisle, or how my bustle got ripped out and had to be safety pinned in, or even when we forgot the whole dance we were going to do for our first dance and just had to wing it). But none of those things were disasters and I didn’t stress about it at all. In fact, our dance was probably better not being choreographed.
So I say to all of you who still have your big day to get through- Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. It’s those things that add a unique memory to your day.
I’m blessed to have my husband and to have been able to go on an awesome honeymoon. If your looking for an all-inclusive go to Punta Cana, Majestic Elegance resort. It was amazing!
I’m also glad the planning is over with and I can get my life back!!! J/K It was totally worth every minute:)
