So our big day came and went…and it was amazing!!! Perfect in all its imperfections. lol 😀
I will post a recap later today or tomorrow when i have time, i’m back at work today and just got in so I only have a few mins…. so i wanted to ask the hive’s opinion…..what order of things did you change your name for?? like i know the first thing is social security and license…..but for instance, items that don’t require you to show any proof of the marriage, like facebook and email signatures etc…..did you do those right away??? or do you legally have to wait til you legally change your last name?? i just thought of this because i opened my outlook at work and would love to change my work email’s signature but i’m not sure if its right because i haven’t changed it legally for payroll, etc….so what should i do?
what are all the items that require name change??
just so i have something to reference when i get it all done…
thanks everyone!! i promise to post recaps soon!! 🙂 happy late wedding day to all July 9th brides!!! 🙂

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!
I changed Facebook right away! Then Social Security, Driver’s License, Voting. I wouldn’t change your name at your place of employment until you change it with the bank and on your accounts, so your paychecks correspond 🙂
Here’s what I have on my list so far:
Social Security Card
Bank accounts / debit card / checks
I don’t currently own a home but if you do, add on Mortgage, Utilities, Insurance

I did Facebook before I legally changed it, I did it before the honeymoon and I waited until after that to change it legally for passport/traveling purposes.
I did SS first, and then you have to wait a day before going to the DMV (at least I did) because it needs to go through their system first. Then I changed everything else.

I don’t see that changing facebook would have any ramifications, and I already have a new gmail account ready for my new last name (I’m getting married in August). I don’t think changing your work e-mail would really affect your receiving your paycheck, though my place of work requires a copy of the marriage certificate before they’ll change any of my info.

i wish that you could change driver’s license BEFORE the wedding. i am kinda disappointed that i won’t be flashing my ID with the new last name when i buy a drink on my honeymoon or something.

So I keep wondering…my grandmother is letting us use a week of her time share for our honeymoon, and my mom mentioned that she booked it in my married name…is it going to be an issue that all my ID and such will still have my maiden name on it? Fiance will obviously be there and it will match his last name, just not sure if they will give me a hard time?
