My thread asking the same question was closed because it was a personal attack.  Just an FYI.

I don’t think anyone NEEDS to be outted because her personal past has nothing to do with wedding planning. But I do think it was odd that anyone who has had public attention on them before would intentionally be somewhere that stuff like that could come out.

@MischiefManaged:  Threads get closed fairly often and not all of the rules for setting a thread are set as far as I know.

If the OP wants a thread closed it will be, that’s the only ‘set rule’ I can think of off the top of my head.  If there’s too much arguing or threadjacking going on threads are often closed.  Threads that start to become cyclical tend to get closed.

@chasesgirl:  I’ve been around WB for a bit and I have heard that bee’s story before…this wasn’t a surprise or new information. I can’t recall how it was discussed previously but I do remember it coming up.

Anyone else remember this? PM me and help me to not feel crazy.

@MischiefManaged:  The thread was closed because a frequent poster’s real identity was “outed”.  Like it or not, this website is meant to protect the identities of its users, so it’s keeping with the site’s policies.  While her case is horrific, it really isn’t important for the hive to know.  I think the mods did the right thing.  I think, though, that the poster in question really put herself out there in a way that made anyone familiar with the case able to ID her.

@chasesgirl:

I somewhat agree, but after reading the article online I have to admit it is very hard to symphatize. I dont understand how people can be so cruel  and thoughtless.

I’m confused too though.  I don’t see the point of closing a thread, but not deleting some of the posts in this case.  Am I alone here?

@AB Bride:  Agreed.  Why leave it there?

@abirdword:  I don’t get that either. Usually if a comment is deemed a personal attack, it will say [comment moderated for personal attack] in place of the comment…

Can I ask, how did anyone work out who she was anyway?

@theone99:  she didn’t make it hard.  It sounds like it was a very public case in Canada, so she’d be recognizable, plus she’d post on Facebook, occasionally posted pictures of herself, and started a few threads where if you were familiar with the case, you’d be able to put two and two together.
