I just got engaged this morning! Here’s my ring (2c moissanite with trillian cut sapphires):

natacha:  Right? It’s gorgeous.

As for the rose gold…not sure how I feel about just rose gold prongs. I almost think, it you’re wanting a thin shank anyway, just go for the rose gold band, it’s subtle. You could even do white gold/platinum prongs to keep the “whiteness” of the stone (which is more important in a fancy cut diamond like oval because it will show color more). A quick google search found this. Personally, I think this is lust-worthy.

Also, someone on the Bee has a rose gold shank with white gold prongs (BridalMonkey, I think?) take a look at hers. I think it’s gooooorgeous. (And may or may not be my inspiration for my forthcoming ring.)

natacha:  Seriously gorgeous. I truly thought that was exactly what I wanted but it was lackluster on my finger (wtf?). Oh well.

To answer your question… those fingers look pretty skinny. Probably over a bit over a carat? 1.25 maybe? I think with ovals the way they face up size wise depends on how “plump” vs “long and lean” they are. So, in other words, I can’t help you. haha. Have you tried on? I realized I liked a very specific type of one cut (cushion–but not squareish) when I went to look. It really helped!

I just got mine before he left for work a little bit ago. 1/2 carat setting with a .69 carat round center.

I’ll share my ring because I just got it re-set into an eternity band setting and I’m loving it!
