The dress kind of dictates what you need to wear. Structured, lined ball gown? Wear anything. Slinky unlined bias cut? Not so much.

Personally, I wear thongs because panty lines give me hives. Other than that, I’m in your camp. I bought a blue lace thong to wear under my a-line dress.

Honestly if your comfortable in cotton bikini undies wear those. Your wedding day isn’t the day to experiment with different types.

In that dress you should wear whatever you like that’s comfortable.

I think I’ll be wearing a pair of comfy undies that won’t ride up or roll down, lol (I’m wearing a corset-back ballgown that doesn’t require me to wear a bra, thank goodness!).  I don’t want to  mess with underwear that will annoy me all night.  Plus, after all the shenanigans, I’ll probably want to shower and then put on something more sexy/playful for the post-wedding festivities. :-p

You should wear whatever is comfortable for you!

Have you ever tried those really comfy super soft no show underwear? You can still wear the bikini style, maybe find some with a cute lace edge to make you feel a little nicer but still comfortable?? Honestly, you could probably just go to Target or whatever I know they have some soft ones!

As for the bra…go with the tried and true one you like 🙂 no sense trying to change that!

@lovelynners:  +1

I can’t really relate to your discomfort. I love spanx! I’ve never worn a bra didn’t have wire and haven’t worn bikin underwear in a decade. I say go with what you feel good in.

I’m fussy with underwear, and tend to go for a mixture of practical and sexy/pretty, with practical being my top priority ie I see no point wearing something sexy if it’s going to show under my clothes/be uncomfortable/not give a good shape.

My bridal lingerie had to look nice, but most importantly, it had to be comfortable and practical, as I’ll be wearing it all day.

So, I’ve gone for a lightly padded strapless bra in white; it’s lace with a satin trip, but totally smooth (no lines), with a little blue bow in the middle, and matching bikini briefs. I had zero desire to wear a thong (way too uncomfortable for long periods and OH doesn’t like them anyway), stockings/suspenders (again, too uncomfortable), or a bra that wasn’t fit for purpose; some I tried were very lovely, but just didn’t fit properly/give  agood shape/were uncomfortable.

This is my set:

You can wear whatever you want! Although I know some ladies who plan on changing into a more ‘sexy’ undergarment or things once they get to the hotel room so that they can be comfortable during the day and then have something sexy and special for the wedding night.  It will only be on for a little while and then taken off so that’s why they are doing it that way.  makes sense to me!

Have you ever tried boyshorts?  I loved bikini panties but my sister talked me into getting a couple pair of boyshorts and they are so comfortable to me.  Maybe you could try those or you could get like silky or spandex material bikini panties that have lace on top of it, you don’t feel the lace but it looks cute.  Just try to find something you are comfortable in and makes you feel good, that is all that really matters 🙂 Good luck!!!

How about something like this?

A pretty comfortable style, but the lace trim makes it fancier. They also have a similar one that’s cotton with lace. I’m also a cotton bikini kind of person, and I find wearing the one’s with lace trim just feels 10x sexier than wearing plain ones, even though they’re really similar
