@Corilee13: just a thought – you could put your registry information on some small business cards and tuck them in the envelope. We got 250 for free from Vistaprint and that is what we’re doing. They turned out really great and it’s a subtle, tactful, way to let guests know you have a registry without forcing it down their throats.

@Corilee13: Whaaaaaaaaaat?

I, for one, love when brides and new moms register – it lets me know exactly what to get! Also, I will NOT be getting china or anything like that, but we can always upgrade some stuff – I think it’s rude to go to a wedding and NOT get something. Some people feel funny about giving cash and therefore want to know what kind of gifts to get.

This is a wedding, it’s not like you’re registering for your birthday – which reminds me of that old South Park episode in which Cartman told his friends what to get him. UltraMegaMan!

@Corilee13: My mom also does not want me to do a registry.  But it’s because we already live together and she said it would be tacky because we already have an established house.  However, we live in FI’s mother’s house now that she has passed and we have all of her stuff.  I think the crockpot she had is from the 80’s!  And we are in the process of buying a house so there will be stuff that we will need or want to update.  Many friends have already asked where I will be registering and when I tell them I might not, they tell me I HAVE to!  I say do what you want and register!

@Corilee13: I would really recommend against including your registry information with your invitations.  Every etiquette says not to do this, and your mom is already against your registry.  If you have a website, include the information there, and let your bridal party know so they can pass the info along when people ask.

Enjoy registering, just don’t include the information in your invitations!!!
