I’m 35 and after our wedding we’ll be TTC. I’ve been doing alot of reading about pregnancy when you’re past 35 and it really has me a bit freaked out. How long have you been trying?

So you’ve been trying for one month, then? πŸ˜‰  I wouldn’t be panicking just quite yet.  I’ll be 33 when we marry in April and we’re going to start trying right after.  I’m a little concerned, given my age, but my doctor told me that there’s no cause for concern until it’s been at least 6 months with nothing.

@lezlers: Thank God! I thought it was only me. I shall be around that age too and sometimes I don’t think Fiance understands what I mean when I intimate that ‘My ovaries are talking to me!’

Time to come down from the ledge, honey.  πŸ™‚  It’s usually a year before they tell you to see someone, but once you hit 35, it goes down to 6 months.  It takes time to get pregnant and the more stressed you are about it, the longer it can take.  If you’re this worked up after one month, you might benefit from seeing your doctor to discuss your concerns.

I feel you on the baby fever, though.  If I wasn’t scared of not fitting in my dress I’d be all over my Fiance about starting to try NOW!!

@lezlers: Seriously, totally not stalking your posts but damn girl, that is one reason why I’m not trying now. I might aim for a month or two before the date though. I just didn’t want a ‘baby bump’ πŸ™‚

@DannysGirl: It just seems like whatever can go wrong in a pregnancy triples once you hit 35. I had 3 difficult pregnancies in the past and I’m scared the next time I get pregnant its going to be like the mother of all bad pregnancies.

@bRooklynRocks:  oh, totally.  I tell my Fiance that I get the worst pmsy symptoms when I’m ovulating because my ovaries are becoming old and shriveled.  He doesn’t find that too amusing, but that doesn’t really stop me. πŸ™‚

He wants to wait until we buy a house and I told him in no uncertain terms that WAS NOT happening.  He understands where I’m coming from, though.  I’m still a little scared that when the time comes, he’s going to find some excuse to want to wait. No bueno.

@DannysGirl: I agree with Lezlers. You still have some time before panic should set in. It’s usually when you stop worrying about it that it happens. I know its easier said then done but I believe it to be very true.

@DannysGirl: Well you need to experience it all! lol My last pregnancy I was in my doctors office so much that my insurance company sent a nurse out to my house and put in an i.v. then inserted a medicine pump into my leg. I was sick beyond sick but like clockwork at the end of my first trimester I was feeling great. Told my Fiance that when I got pregnant he was going to see some things that he didn’t like but to hang in there and to count the days πŸ™‚
