I haven’t seen that anywhere else. But I do know that if you want an oval, contact a jeweler to design it for you. May be alot less than Blue Nile.

25karats.com does custom now. And, you can go on to their site now, you click to do the custom quote, send them the link to the ring or the pics, tell them you want oval and what size oval and they will give you a quote on how much it will cost. It doesn’t cost a thing, so may be worth doing..

Have you contacted Blue Nile to see if they could do that for you? Oval and round are not that different as far as shape, they might be able to help you out!

Good luck!

My ring has something slightly similar in my opinion, I have the tacori 2620. I would consider it a halo regardless of placement, since it will show up around the stone as a halo effect-it is just smaller/tighter with a different placement, same idea from a top view as a halo though.

I have to say I haven’t seen a setting like that before. I think it is beautiful. I would suggest what the PP said and talk to blue nile or a jeweler about it. Sometimes adjustments can be made to the head to fit different stones. Good luck, I love it!

A good custom guy, and I do know of several, can copy and tweak that design to make the halo fit.  It just doesn’t fit Blue Nile’s manufacturing specs to change it up that much.  Most custom work is beautiful and they take great care to make it like you want and in some cases improve upon a design.

you should be able to bring it to a local jeweler you trust and get it custom made for cheaper. everyone says blue nile is cheap but i think they’re quite pricey, actually! my fiance had my setting made for much cheaper and it looks the exact same!

Ask this on Pricescope.com. They are great at this sort of thing.

Do you have a picture of the setting from the front, with a diamond in the setting? Not sure but the placement of the halo looks similar to the Tacori 2620 which is the ring that I’m getting and I believe it’s called a “bloom”.
