Your update doesn’t  make  me understand  any better I’m sorry .  If you are both  ready for marriage  and a second child  and the ring is already bought ,  his hiding it away makes even less sense .

I don’t see that money  is anything to do  with it – unless you were  hanging  out  for a big expensive  wedding, which you  aren’t   And even if you were that doesn’t preclude   him from giving you the damn ring now for heaven’s sake!!

I don’t  doubt your readiness at all OP , you sound perfectly clear and sensible about your desires and needs . Him ? Not so much.

I don’t think you’re crazy.  Its a beautiful dress, if you don’t end up wearing it as your bridal gown, you’d still be able to wear it as a regular dress.  I would wear this to a nice oceanside dinner – its beautiful.

So your financial situation means you can’t have an elopement ceremony but can have a second child?

I want to elope myself… and its my SOs second time round. Prob end up having a wedding anyways lol.

I think he should go ahead and propose anyways. Just have a longer engagement. I don’t know how guys sit on rings so long. i would be antsy in my pants as a guy lol.

I understand waiting to have a huge wedding if you’re not set financially, but I don’t understand someone not proposing when they already have the ring, especially if you’re planning on an elopement. The actual proposal doesn’t cost anything.

dionsmom :  to the point of the thread; love the dress- its perfect.

about the proposal though… how have you guys not discussed what type of wedding you want? if he hasn’t done it by now, what makes you think a proposal is imminent?

me thinks you two have some things to talk about.
