The dress is lovely!

I don’t think you’re crazy but I do find it odd if finances are a barrier to your engagement that you’re spending money on a dress

dionsmom :  Well you said neither of you are working consistently, finances are a concern and I personally don’t sniff at $150 but okay

First off, IT’S GORG!

Second off, you aren’t crazy. I’m not even engaged yet but I’ve got my wedding planned and dressed picked out. tongue-out

150$ for a dress you’re going to wear on your wedding day is totally worth it imo (that’s a steal)

Totally in love with the dress

Dress is lovely and a steal at the price and you look great in it . But l still don’t understand the hidden ring and  you sound very defensive with your comments which suggest  how ‘most women ‘ on this site badger men into proposing .  They don’t  – in fact far too many of them are passengers in their own lives when it comes to decisions on when and how marriage will happen. Even when they have children to the man .

People on the wedding bee are very judgemental at times. In terms of finances purchasing the dress while it was on sale (after it was already quite inexpensive) was a smart move. Some people spends 3000 dollars on a dress. You spent 150. Are you really being criticized for that? Anyway, I hope he proposes soon. By January I do think you need to ask him about his plans though, OP.

By the way the dress looks beautiful on you!

I’ll be honest, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing some planning before the engagement is “official”, and that dress does look fabulous on you, but it does seem kind of unfair to me that you’ve apparently made a decision about what kind of wedding you’re going to have without discussing with your fiance.

You say he’s waiting on engagement because finances are an issue because he assumes you’ll want a big fat wedding, so you’re to wait patiently for a proposal all while knowing you want an elopement to surprise him and then BAM, you’ve already got a dress for the occassion. Kind of feels like this should be a decision both of you get to weigh in on
