Hi fellow bees!
Hi everybody! I would like to share my first post and my story.
I have been officially waiting for a month now since my SO ask me for my ring size. I am 32 and he is 37 been dating for shy of 4 years now.
I was at work and got his text message to measure my ring finger exactly! When I got the text I was so happy and excited. I love surprises but I guess he didn’t want to take the risk to get a ring that was too big or small for me. I told him was a size 4 1/2.
A week later after that incident, he texted me again, this time he asked me if I wanted to be included in the process of designing my ring or if I wanted it to be a surprise? I told him I wanted to have my input on the ring but wanted a surprise proposal. He emailed me a picture of the setting he chose. He is a very detailed oriented and perfectionist so he wanted to make sure I approve of the ring setting before purchasing it. The setting he chose was perfect and i loved it. My perfect engagement ring is a solitare diamond ( 4 prongs ) on a plain white gold band. He told me also that if I don’t like the ring setting we can always change it. Awwww… he’s so sweet.
Not knowing when he’s going to propose is driving me crazy! My birthday is in a month and our anniversay is coming up in August. Not sure if he’s going to propose on those days tho.
Sometimes i just wanna tell him to propose already but I know I should be patient and that time will eventually come. In the meantime, I am just waiting for that day by staying busy to keep my mind off it. I can’t wait to start wedding planning and most of all spend our lives together.
What are all the waiting bees doing to keep their mind off waiting for the proposal to come?

I’m getting through some university papers, teaching myself to be a little more domesticated(mostly getting a better variety of meals in my mind) and making sure I catch up with other friends regularly. When with SO I make sure I just enjoy the moment and appreciate the relationship without trying to think he’s going to propose at any second.

You said yourself you wanted a surprise proposal, and since you know the ring and you know you’re getting engaged soon you can take time now to just sit back and enjoy the ride! Easier said than done, I know, but I’m sure it will all be worth the wait.

yay that’s exciting!
SO just ordered the ring yesterday (!!) and should have the digital rendering of it today! We discussed an approximate time (specific week) for the proposal, so he can still surprise me with exact day, where and how, but I won’t be too on edge lol. He’ll have ring for a few weeks before then, so I’m hoping my summer classes will keep my mind off of it (they start next week)…but I doubt it!

@Whitebunbun30: haha I had to train myself to be calm and focussed. I went crazy when i first started waiting(which was just before I joined the Bee). I have been officially waiting since February/March. SO And I have been dating for about 1.5 years. He told me at the start of the year that he wanted to get married in early 2014 and asked for details about ring etc. By March, he had all the information he needed, hence why I am now waiting. 🙂
