@imsandradee:  I haven’t actually ordered anything. . . but I regularly check the recent sales of an Etsy seller who makes a ring my SO knows I really, really like (he even let me email him a link to it). That makes me feel cuckoo!

I also have pretty much designed my wedding dress (I’m going to make it myself, since I’m a seamstress). I sometimes have a hard time not saying to my SO, “we need to get engaged soon because my dress is going to take a whole year to finish!” Our timeline means that we will not be getting married for another 2 years or so. But I have suspicions that we might be getting engaged sometime this year, though I really don’t know.

I would love to start buying fabric and making the fabric flowers for my dress, but I decided that won’t happen until we are engaged, just for my own sanity!

I think that if these shoes are the perfect wedding shoes, why not buy them now and hide them away? If they really are exactly what you always dreamed of, and they were about to sell out, why not!? They’ll be your little secret, tucked away in the back of the closet. 🙂

I am considering a small wedding purchase myself. I will not make deposits or get anything with a date, but there are some things I love that may not be available in 2015, and those I would consider, although jusall all things.

@imsandradee:  I don’t think what you did is too awful, I just wouldn’t make a habit of it. At least with $80 shoes you could always wear them even if you don’t use them at the wedding, and worst case, it’s only $80 down the drain… not a $1,000+ wedding dress.

I would be careful buying things here and there… unless you’re totally solid on your wedding colors/theme, lots could change. I don’t think you can be solid on these things until you have a venue. Stick to Pinterest lol.

Haha yes you are crazy :3 but I think sometimes it’s okay, so long as its not super regular! Is there any chance of wearing them not in a wedding if your vision changes for whatever reason?

There’s only been one wedding thing I’ve been super tempted to buy so far, and it was my mothers fault really XD in situations like that I’m very good at convincing myself that something better will come along. In the case of your shoes I can see why that would have been hard to do 🙂

I am absolutely 100% just as (if not more) crazy! I have a collection of fake engagement rings that I wear out in public and if people comment on them, I make up a crazy elaborate story of how I feel SO should propose. I have gone and tried on wedding dresses on more than on occasion, I have all the bridal salon cards in an envelope, I have a file on my computer filled with wedding stuff (60 possible wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, favours, venues, centerpieces, wedding bouquets, cakes). I leave the website and picture of my dream engagement ring open on the computer for my SO to see. I probably spend the majority of my free time looking at this website, or wedding dress or engagement ring or other various wedding-y websites.
I actually found my perfect bridal shoes once (I want a pair of super high stilletto closed toe silver sparkly platforms for the ceremony and then a pair of sparkly silver flats for the reception). They were next to each other in the store and at a relatively reasonable price. I was going to buy them, but my best friend said that that would be a little bit much….but I always kind of wish I had….

Can you wear them elsewhere? Otherwise, sorry but yeah that’s pretty cray cray. Styles and your own personal tastes change a lot.

I bought the bases for our centerpieces a couple of days after we got engaged.  Because I already had a vision of what I wanted, and they went on super sale – 60% off plus free shipping.  They’re sitting in the closet 🙂  Crazy?  Absolutely.  And I’d have been heartbroken if I’d have waited a week, because they were discontinued.

@MariContrary:  I’m doing the same. We do have a pretty good idea of our date. It’s not written in stone but it’s pretty definite, so if I see good deals now I’ll go for it

@buddysmom80:  yes, he knows I bought the candle. We have a date and are starting to plan, but he wants to wait until his contract is renewed for sure to propose and share our plans. my wedding is 2 years out though, so I’d never buy anything with the date on it since things can change. We’ve (together) already decided to favors and some other details too, but new need to leave the rest for until we pin down a final guest list and budget

@imsandradee:  I haven’t done it, but I saw the cutest pair of heels on ShoeDazzle. They were light pink and sparkly aka perfect wedding shoes as I am thinking of getting a light/ice pink wedding dress (more like prom dress to save $$$, haha). I just haven’t jumped the shark yet.

If you can think of other uses for the slippers, I don’t think it’s crazy!
