Sorry…I really don’t want to sound like I’m bragging, but I’m excited and wanted to tell someone other than my hubby! …I made a new years resolution to run 1000 miles in 2012 and so far I’m ahead of schedule by a few miles!
And what I’ve found doing this is that it really helps me get to the gym even when I don’t feel like it. I pretty much need to average 3 miles a day (or 6 miles every other day) to keep up. So I know if I miss a day it just makes it more likely to fail. To anyone that likes to run (or even doesn’t but wants to give it a try) I really recommend setting goals like this to keep you going. Even just setting monthly goals is great. Last year I would set goals to run 50 miles in a month.

Thanks! You all can do it too, be motivated! It helps to just set little goals and then work up. It keeps it exciting and it’s such a great feeling when you reach a goal you want to reach another one. Start with trying to run/jog/fast walk a mile. Then once you get that, try to run a mile in 10 min. And then either try to do that mile in 9:30 minutes or you could try to increase your endurance and run for 1.5 miles.
It is amazing though. I always HATED running. Like 1 mile killed me and I dreaded it. But now I can run 6 miles without stopping. Really anyone can do it if they try and are motivated enough.
