Hello yall!!! I am new here so, i really dont know how this blog works, but i will give it a try 
first off, i hope everyone can understand me, but i am foreign, so i might make some mistakes 
So.. im getting married in May and I am paranoid with my dress!!! i loved it as soon as i saw it… i am still in love with it BUT… i went for my first fitting the other day and i started to have some doubts about it… i mean, i still love it, it is that im really confused now…i have been watching all these shows on tv like “say yes to the dress” and stuff, and every bride picks up gowns that are not even close to what mine looks like… my gown is not that “loud”, it is a modified mermaid all lace and there is a lot of beadings, here is a picture

then, since my arms are not that toned, and because im having a formal wedding in chatolic chirch, i have decided to wear a bolero IN LACE

the two pieces match wonderful together (considerating that are not the same brand), and i will cut the bolero to 3/4 sleeved.
i am paranoid becuase i am worried that gown and bolero will look too much lace and since im planning to wear the bolero pretty much all day, i dont want people to think that i am hiding something! i really like the bolero as an accessory and i think it will look more sophisticated….
UGH!!! i am going crazy! now it is too late to change everything and i really dont want to because i love the dress, and i cant even talk about it to my mother because she will “kill” me LOL since she paid for everything! ..what you guys think??!?!

I love that dress! I wouldn’t change it for anything! Your dress shouldn’t be like everyone on those TV shows, it should be what you want!

I think that dress is beautiful! Don’t worry about what other brides wear – wear what YOU love. My gown is very, very simple too, but it doesn’t make me less of a bride.

I agree! Your dress is beautiful! I have a very simple dress. It’s nothing like most of the trends that I see right now. But I love it! As long as YOU love your dress(which it sounds like you do), then that’s all that matters! 🙂

Hi Bimba,
That dress is gorgeous, and so is the bolero. I don’t think anyone will be thinking that you’re hiding anything, they’ll be thinking, “wow, she looks amazing!” And I agree with everyone else–don’t worry about what t.v. show are showing (they’re fun to watch, of course, but some of those dresses are completely crazy!). I think it’s great that your dress doesn’t look like every other one.

what worries me is the final effect, i mean lace gown, lace bolero plus veil! i had to change the veil because what i choose before was also in lace..

I think it looks lovely! I really wouldn’t be paranoid. You have to remember when you watch those shows that every bride has a different idea as to what a “perfect” dress looks like. For some of us the dress has to be made out of silk, for some it has to be covered in beading – for you, your perfect dress is covered in lace and it looks great. Don’t be paranoid. This industry is the ultimate in peer pressure experiences and making us concerned over whether or not our wedding is perfect or not. So long as you’re happy that’s all that matters. You’re the only bride at your wedding after all!

I think it will look really pretty. It might lbe a tiny bit of a problem if they were both solid lace, but since the bolero is mostly see through (sheer? sorry, I’m not sure about the terms here 
), I think they’ll look really good together. Not too much lace at all. Have you tried them on together yet? Maybe you’ll feel better about it when you see the full effect of it all.

yeah i have tried them together and it looks just fine…the designs of the bolero, since it is a white one, match just fine with the designs of the dress, which it is a mon cheri.. my first paranoid was that bolero and dress wouldnt match, but actually it looks like they come from the same fabric!…. unfortunately the bolero is a little too big and i hope they will be able to fix it, otherwise that will be a good waste of money!
an other reason why im soo paranoid is because i told my younger sister, who is getting married next year, that i was going to wear a bolero and she asked me “why??”! she thinks i will ruin the beauty of the dress..and when i told this to my fiancee he goes” why are u wearing something like that? i dont want you all cover up!” but of course he is a guy and he didnt understand that a bolero is a cover shoulders and not a jacket! BUT he said that he would love whatever i will wear!
