I am completely freaking out right now! If you’ve read my posts before you know that my husband and I have been trying for over a year now with no luck. My cycles are really irregular (60+ days) and my doctor told me I might need the help of mediciation to get pregnant. I figured it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon so I stopped testing every month. Well, my last period was April 15 and last week I started having light cramps and my boobs became extremely sore. I figured my period was about to start but after an entire week I finally decided to pick up a cheap dollar store test this morning. I came home and tested – immediately got a positive. Ran to the drugstore and purchased a “fancier” test that was also positive!!!
I have an appointment with my doctor on Thursday morning but in the meantime – any advice? This is my first so I really don’t know what to expect!

Congrats! The first few weeks are kind of boring unfortunately but make sure you’re hydrated and eating well. If you get morning sickness (I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy) make sure you have small snacks throughout the day, I found when my stomach got empty is when I felt the worst.

Congrats! so you must be like 7 weeks already? I’m jealous that you found out so “late” lol
Eat breakfast every day and always have snacks with you! that’s how I avoided nausea.

Congrats! I am in the same boat (irregular periods, pretty sure it wasn’t happening any time soon) and I got my postive last Friday! Be ready for lots of blood work. I had my first draw yesterday because they need to date how far along I am and irregular peiods make it hard. They are messuring my HGC levels and are going to make the call of when to do an ultra sound to visually confirm how far along I am.
If you haven’t started vitimins the first thing the nurse I talked to told me was to start.

loden: Ah congrats!!! That’s so exciting!!!
Expect to give blood at your appointment and possibly have a Pap done too. I was surprised by that, but the doctor said it’s easier to get it done at one time.
Get some prenatal vitamins and take lots of naps!! Congrats again!
