And I still don’t know how exactly I’m doing it…
I’m getting help from my director because I want to do it on stage after our show, but I need permission and whatnot because the scheduling is kind of tight… Hahaha… If I can’t do it, I have to come up with something else to do on the day, but I really want to do my original idea…

Orion: How do you think your SO will react to a public proposal? Not saying you do not know her well, just that many women would have strong feelings about this Good luck with your planning!

Orion: How sweet! What kind of ring did you get?

He’s fine with me proposing, and we’re both performers, so I know it won’t be an issue.
The worst that can happen is a joke rejection, and that just means I have to quickly improvise something witty as a response. I’m thinking about calling the director to come “kill” him, as she’ll be carrying a giant scythe, and has agreed to try to assist me with arranging this.
He knows I’m proposing, just not when or where, so it’s basically just making it official and public knowledge. I’m most likely to get a snarky comment accepting the proposal. Whatever he does is fine by me… Hopefully he doesn’t do anything too drastic… like stage punching. I haven’t quite got the hang of selling hits yet…

Bridey77: I got us matching bands (that we may end up using for the wedding bands as well… I’m not a fan of jewelry, it was very hard to find something that both of us liked and might actually wear); they’re argentium from an etsy seller. He doesn’t know what I ended up choosing, but it was one of his top three choices, and the only one that I could get in matching with different widths.

Orion: I love those! Be aure to update us on how it goes! I think it’s awesome when woman do the proposing.

Orion: Hi! Forgive me for the ignorance, I’m just going off of the “typical” proposal structure but to clarify, you are a female proposing to your boyfriend? I assumed by the rings and previous post, but I thought maybe you could be a gay couple as well. I just want to be clear! 🙂
I’m just interested b/c I’m an actor too, what show are you doing?
I’m going to throw something out there…I am a performer, my Fiance is not. He’s actually kind of an introvert. Anyway, prior to us getting engaged we had gone to a couple shows that required audience participation (one was on a cruise ship so that might be tough to pull off lol) and for SOME DAMN REASON, I thought EACH AND EVERY TIME there was a surprise proposal involved. I probably thought this b/c it would have been really cool. One of the shows, my Fiance was the one pulled up to participate, which was SO out of character for him to do. That could be something to consider as well, if it’s feasible.
ETA: he asked me over a quiet dinner, just the two of us. Also completely amazing and unexpected!

Orion: I think that sounds awesome and very “you guys” to have it on stage! Those rings are lovely too 🙂

Bridey77: Oh, definitely. I’ll probably be posting all about it on the 15th.
Kili: Kind of out of character for me, heh, but thank you.
BurlapnLace: Oh, I’m queer as all get out, but yes, close enough…
If you’re familiar with Metrocon, I’m in one of the shows, it’s a dance show.
I’m actually a total introvert! Isn’t that funny?
playdohpants: I hope his ring fits him. We got out fingers measured several months ago, and mine fits perfectly, but I can’t exactly test it on him…
