So, this is dorky, but I’m excited. My fiance (before we got engaged, even) were talking about how we both hated favors.
But somehow, we decided to do plastic beer mugs, a la:
Except not with a random company logo on it. Our names or something. And they will be 10oz or so.
Our reception is going be in my backyard, and although overall it will be fairly classy, we really just wanted something fun. We are both sort of beer snobs, and are almost as excited about picking out what beer to serve as anything else. So it’ll be fitting.
I’m not telling my parents, because I know my mom will freak out. Which is part of the fun. Has anyone else does this? It’s not *too* trashy, is it?

Cute idea! I’d love to get something creative and functional like this.

I think it’s a cute and useful favor. It might be fun if you put something inside of it…something edible instead of an empty cup. Also, I would be weary of putting too much personalization on them with your names, dates, etc etc. From what I have been reading on Weddingbee and other places, it seems like people would rather keep something that doesn’t have another couples name on it and would get more use out if it. But it’s totally your choice!

I think it fits with the outdoor backyard wedding just fine! Sounds great for the 2 of you! 🙂

it could be a good but at the same time it can go the oppsite way… I know thats no help what so ever.. I wanted to put in that one of my friends got marry and she didnt have any favor so if you guys really dont like them you dont need to do them.. but I think if you really like the beer mug thing good for it

Miss Britt – good point. We were thinking about putting “Eat, drink, and be married” on it, but I don’t about that. I’ll have to think about what to put. Any suggestions? Maybe I’ll do something Virginia related, cause that’s where we are getting married, but 90% of our guests aren’t from there.

I think something Virginia related would be really cute. Then when they use it, they will remember it’s from your wedding…but it isn’t necessarily your names. I know “Virginia is for Lovers” is a pretty big slogan around there. But I don’t know if that’s overdone or not. You could also do something maybe related to the specific town you are in if you can think of something clever.

We’re doing something similar, but koozies!! Our design was pretty simple, we used our names, the date and location and a design from our invitations. Ours are black with metallic silver ink. I love them!!!!
