My friend is studying for the NC bar currently. He hates it too. But I told him at least the material shouldn’t be too different from what he has already studied/learned since he has already passed the NV and CA bar exams. He is currently wanting to move to NC to be closer to friends he have made out here.
But I can definitely relate. The exams I am studying for are not as hard as the bar exam but they can be very difficult. I am currently trying to pass 4 exams by August so that I can get a promotion at work. Even if I do not pass them in August I will be up for the promotion as soon as I pass those exams. Then it will be on to get insurance licensing, then my yearly certification for VITA(volunteer income tax assistance) and then eventually my CFP(certified financial planner). And who knows, I may take the plunge and study for the GMAT, so that I can potentially go back for my MBA.

I’m studying for the GA bar too, and I definitely feel your pain. At least you’re not sick though! I just got sick and I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck, but I still have to keep studying and pray I get better in time for the exam. Does that make you feel any better? Good luck! Maybe I’ll see you there (and totally not know it’s you obviously lol) 🙂

Ladies I’m sorry that you all are stressed, but it really makes me feel better to know that someone else feels the pain.
I can’t wait to do something a little more fun than bar prep (ie almost everything) and especially looking forward to doing actual wedding planning (although checking the bee 10x a day is helping to hold me over)
GOOD LUCK TO US!

You guys have all REALLY helped me. It’s nice hearing the perspective of other bees who are going through the same thing.

I’m sorry all of you are going through this! I was in your shoes 3 years ago and believe me when I tell you… August will be the best month of your life. lol. All that weight lifted? 🙂
But– if your heart isn’t in it– go ahead (after the bar) and find something else. I’m 3 years into a career I don’t like because I honestly can’t figure out what else I could do. All I know is how to be a lawyer. It sucks. Why don’t they tell you how bad it sucks on orientation day????? lol

My Fiance is studying for the CA bar and I’ll be taking it in February. I see him studying every day, and I know its tough. He’s so focused on studying, trying to keep him sane, fed, healthy etc takes some work haha. I’m completely out of ideas of how to help him calm down at this point, haha. Just remember, almost everything is just reeview, you’ve already learned and been tested on this stuff and passed. I hear a big part of passing the bar is just not psyching yourself out with the stress, if thats possible.
Honestly, almost everyone I know feels the same way about law school, especially with this economy, its depressing. But after all is said and done, getting though the bar will make it worth it. Theres a tons of different areas of law to go into, and tons of other fields that areen’t legal that would appreciate the degree. Just focus on getting through the bar and you can figure out everything else after. Good luck!

I read this yesterday. I graduated from law school a while ago and I still get pissed about how much I owe. I tell folks, if you can, go to a state school or don’t go to law school at all. To the OP, good luck in your bar exam.
