Ive looked and tried on tons, And I just don’t like the look. I just like my thin band engagement ring and thats it.
But my SO says I don’t have a choice. That I have to wear one. He thinks that guys will always think I’m ‘available’, even with my engagement ring if I don’t get a wedding band
But. I. Just. Don’t. Want. One.

How about getting a wedding band for your left hand, and wearing your engagement ring on it’s own on the right?

@MrsGo: Oh, thats an idea!

Did you try on the matching band? Or one that is the same size as your e-ring shank?

@GelaMac: Yes, I hate the legacy collection band.

Is there a way to customize or enhance the ring you already have? I know a woman who had a solitaire for her engagement ring and for the “wedding band” they added seed diamonds to create a stylized flower.
And honestly if an engagement ring isn’t going to tell someone you aren’t available, then a wedding band won’t either.

@LittleCricket: I completely agree with your last statement!
I think I like this one
what do you think?

@nikix: I like it! I’m biased though because it’s similar to mine.
If it’s any consolation, I dreaded finding a band because I wanted the diamonds in the band to match the width of my three-stone engagement ring. Easier said than done! I finally found one but (oh sadness!) it was slightly rounded and not flat across, the prongs were different, and the (whatever the technical term is for the) raised up portion of the ring were different. We got it, and for the first couple of days I was seriously doubting what I had done. Eventually the pro of the width won out over all the cons and eventually I’m going to get a jeweler to solder them. I do love it a lot more now than when we got it.
But before we found a band, I talked about just getting a plain silver band as a stand-in.
Just find something you mostly like that can be customized or fitted with your engagement ring later or a place-holder until you find one you love.

@GelaMac: wedding bands suck baby!

I’m SO GLAD I am not the only person having this problem! I have a plain band engagement ring but the prongs holding the diamond do a crossing knot looking thing which I love…it was the whole reason I picked it! But bc of that I’m having a hard time finding a band that doesnt cover it …I would need a flat one…and also that matches the width of my band. I originally thought I would like just a plain band but I reallllly like the double diamond band look but feel like Im being a little greedy since my engagement ring cost so much already. I picked my ring setting super fast (we bought the diamond seperate) …who knew it would be SO HARD to pick the BAND?!! Good luck!
LittleCricket: I like your idea of a stand in band I might have to do the same!

If you really don’t like any bands with your ring, there is nothing wrong with wearing it alone! Many people only have one ring. You could also get a wedding band and wear it on your left hand with your engagement ring on your right or vice versa. Keep looking and try on that metro band, but if you don’t find anything then your Fiance will have to come to terms with the fact that you’re only wearing 1 ring and that should say taken as much as anything.

what if you got an ‘invisible band’? super thin, and often fits right up against your e ring and doesn’t take away from it at all.

This is exactly what I sent through. I love my cushion cut halo thin pave band by itself so I’m wearing my diamond wedding band in my right finger!

I dread shopping for a band! I hope I find a very thin pave one that resembles the detail on my e-ring.
