- Wedding: March 2010
When I was selecting my bridesmaid dresses I decided that I wanted to go with Mori Lee’s bridesmaids dresses. I looked up on their website and found the only location in the area that was selling was the same boutique in which I bought my prom dress. Back in 2008 the owner gave me problems or anything so I thought we were all in the clear.
I went around two months ago to talk to the owner and find out how much they were charging and when they needed to come in. Since then my opinion has changed severely. And I’m so frustrated.
My Maid/Matron of Honor and I went to this boutique last week. They have no hours posted on the store doors but when we called they said they were open at 11am. We showed up at 11 and waiting almost an hour. No one was answering the phone, the doors were locked, and no one was there. We decided to meet up sometime this week to go because I really wanted to see the bridesmaid dress on her. But she lives over a half an hour away so I know that she has to take a lot of time out of her schedule to make it just to get fitted.
We show up today at 11am, same time they said they were open before. Nothing. We call, the message now says they are open at 12pm. So we go shopping, look around at some stores in the strip they are in, and come back at 12 pm. No lights are on, doors are locked, no one is answering the phone. We waiting until 1:15 pm, call one more time, and this time they answer so we go right over. By this time I’m steaming. We’ve waited over three hours combined, just to get fitted for a stupid dress.
Now I NEVER have a discussion with any company that I’m mad at. It’s just not me. I’ve walked away angry before, yes, but never enough to feel the need to talk to them. But today we went over there (by the way there is a chiuahua running around the store which they don’t apologize for or even try to stop from running around us) and my Bridesmaid or Best Man says, “I would like to try on a bridesmaid dress” The owner looks at us dumbfounded and says “I have plenty of bridesmaids.”
At this point we are beyond frustrated. My bridesmaid very calmly says, “This is the second time we have been here. Both times the times stated in your voicemail are not the times you have opened.” And the owner looks at us and says, “Well, we opened at five this morning but then we closed to go on lunch.” We both looked at him thinking his joke was not funny and I repeated what my bridesmaid said. Neither of us yelled, but we were mad. In response to my repeating thing the owner looks at me and says, “Oh, well if you’ve been here two hours let me look at the security camera and prove it!” When I told him we had been coming back and forth to check the doors he said that all people do that.
I tried telling him that I had no problems when I went to get my prom dress and he said, “I was just going to say that. I have over 2,000 satisfied customers.” Okay, well I’m not satisfied. I’m just so angry that they would pass off everything I clearly tried telling them I was angry about as something not important. They told me several times today that their hours will be changing several more times between now and the wedding. I even asked them if we were having problems now how could I trust them to be ok right before the wedding. He said to me that there should be no problem, not to worry but then when they checked out my bridesmaid they are going to have to pay extra for alterations they didn’t tell me about. I should’ve guessed that we would’ve had alterations, but they should’ve told me, too, shouldn’t they have.
On top of everything the dresses wont’ be here until August 19th and I’m terrified that something is going to go wrong by then. All of the girls paid in full because that’s their policy. After we get those dresses I’m going to talk to them. This is insane! Anyone else feel that all of their attitude, unprofessional behavior, and lack of customer service was uncalled for?
