I was. FH and I had talked about getting married around the 8 months mark. I started getting suspicious of everything. He wants to cook for me? He’s proposing! He took my laundry out of the dryer! PROPOSAL IS COMING! Ok, I wasn’t THAT bad, but I started looking into things too.I drove myself absolutely bonkers in the beginning, but I think it eventually calms down and you’re not over analyzing every situation.

He finally proposed 2 months shy of our 2nd anniversary, so I was suspicious for over a year… I’d never thought to ask him for a timeline.

But YAY! You know it’s coming and soon! It’s ok to be a little suspicious and I don’t think you’re going to ruin it for yourself πŸ™‚

I’m becoming the same. He asked me about some jewelry recently, and everyday seems like a prospect since then. lol, well, I’m not THAT bad, but we’re roadtripping to Pittsburgh memorial day weekend, on the tails of a promition at work for him, and going to both the national aviary, and a few art museums. I both love birds (penguins specifically, and they have a super great penguin exhibit), and was an art major, so I’m full of speculation that I’m trying to shove out of my head. I kind of can’t stop thinking about it, and want to stop, because I know our trip will be no fun if I spend it wondering whether this is going to happen or not!! blargh.

@Leahhh – This is me to a T. I’m very nosy and I’m terrible with resisting the urge to follow a lead. This whole waiting process has only heightened my suspicious tendencies. His little sister gave me a present that was the whole box-wrapped-in-a-box-wrapped-in-a-bigger-box-ad-infinitum thing, and for exactly 2 seconds I actually thought, THIS IS IT. Except: that doesn’t make any sense. Why would he put my engagement ring in a birthday present from his sister? Gah.

@SouthernGirl – LOL to “he took my laundry out of the dryer! OBVIOUSLY A PROPOSAL”- type thinking. That’s all me, baby. I’m glad to hear that it eventually dies down — I don’t think I can take the constant adrenanile rush!

@SouthernGirl: That’s hilarious. My guy works 24/7 so I typically do a majority of the housework. I’ve certainly had a couple of those moments where I come home and find out he took out the trash and I get super proposal excited. It’s a little sad. Laughing Doesn’t happen often. But it still gets me.

Omg this just happened to me.   My SO said to me today “something very exciting is happening for you this weekend!!” and I was like “REALLY?!!?!?” LaughingSurprised

Hey says “Haha, it’s just the NFL draft.”

Thaaanks, buddy.  I smacked him (playfully!) and he said that he told me so quickly because he didn’t want to get my hopes up, he was just being silly.  UGH.

Totally- right before my guy proposed, we went to Macy’s to look around (him by force lol)—- I was expecting him to buy (they had some rings on sale and he JUST got his refund check) so he had to “hint” that maybe he already had a ring to get me out of the store.
So while he was in the bathroom showering, I started feeling through his clothes and felt the ring box- honestly, I wish I let it be a surprise 100% because he would have got me so good. Waiting got the best of me that time and I wish I could take that back. It was a lovely surprise none-the-less…. and I got engaged a few hours later, when hours before I was hyperventilating about it.

I really hope he pops the question when you’re NOT expecting it because it’s sooo much better! Please update us regardless because we gotta know what this surprise is. I got myself excited once and I am not easily excitable. Like six months before our actual proposal, he took me to a Ranger’s baseball game and I was nearly 99% sure he was going to get out names on the megatron because he’d mentioned it on more than one occasion. Then, we he actually proposed, he admitted that the baseball game was a ploy to throw me off and make it more exciting when it was the real thing. Sneaky man….
