I am so excited!
My Maid/Matron of Honor and I went shopping today for her dress- I figured we’d have to go to several places and try on a lot. Neither of us is exactly “young” (I’m in my 40s and she is in her 50s), so a typical bridesmaid dress was not unlikely to work. So, off we went to try Macy’s first, with a plan to go to several stores, and maybe go out again next weekend. Well, we looked at all of the dresses, grabbed a couple for her to try (slim pickings), and decided to check out the markdown rack, just in case. I found a dress that was the ideal color, but it was a 10 and she is more like a 6. I grabbed it anyway. It was a Jones NY originally $160., pefect color, material and style. Well, she tried it on and it was GORGEOUS on her. Just a tiny bit big, but easy to alter. It was marked down to $54. What a bargain! It was def. THE dress for her.
I decided to check and scan it at one of the little price scanners, mostly because I couldn’t believe our luck and figured the markdown had to be wrong (it is a spring dress, so not sure why it was marked down, it was perfect). Well, it scanned at $42!
I had a coupon for $10 off, and it worked with markdowns, so her $160 Jones dress was $32 when all was said and done.
Let’s hope the rest of the wedding planning goes like this!
