Or this Anna woman.

So it sounds unique to me =]

In all honesty, I would have to say (and this is just my opinion) that I would think the star sapphire ring would be more different than anything.  Not everyone has one and who the heck cares if Anna Paquin received one.  I’m guessing she won’t be at your wedding.  Your ring is yours!  ANd it’s different and unique probably just like you!  I wouldn’t be upset. But that’s just me.Innocent

I also love star sapphires. I didn’t know that’s what Anna Paquin got, if that makes you feel better. I knew she got engaged but didn’t care enough to read any further.

On a side note, my grandmother has two star sapphire rings. One blue, one brown in color. I hope that she will let me wear one on my wedding day! Preferably the brown one…it’s very unique!

I also don’t know what a star sapphire is, and I would imagine that the majority of people don’t even know who Anna Paquin is.  I only know because I’m obssessed with that show.

You will be fine :o)

haha, I kind of know how you feel. That’s sort of how I felt when Brittany Spears named her son Jayden. I had been considering it for a boy name if hubby and I ever have one, but now it’s out! but, for the record, I don’t know who she is and I don’t know what a star sapphire is, but it sounds incredibly romantic!

Aw, I get how you feel a little bit. I used to love princess cut until my friends started getting engaged and then allll of them had that. I looked into different shapes and I really love asscher and cushion because most jewelry stores don’t carry them so they’re a little more unique… but lately (maybe i just notice more bc I’m waiting?) i feel like i’ve seen a lot of cushion cut rings and i’m kind of sad my ring probably (if the bf gets what i hinted at) won’t be as unique as i thought.

above all though, i will love my ring bc it will be beautiful and who cares if it isn’t totally unique?

Here is a photo of a star sapphire.  They are lovely and I think your ring will still be very unique!

That is a unique looking ring. I’m not a fan of the show, so I have no idea who she is either 🙂

I have a standard sapphire as an engagement ring, and I have a star sapphire ring my mom gave me when I was a teenager. Non-diamond rings ARE becoming more and more popular, and I think you’ll have to expect sapphires to be leading the pack as they are ALMOST as tough as diamonds and come in such a wide array of colors. Don’t worry about it. The funny thing about bridal trends is that they have to become absolutely ENORMOUS in order for them to really make a difference in our day-to-day lives — not everyone is a wedding aficiando like the Bees are!

And my sapphire ring is not because I wanted to be unique, but because we were college students and dirt poor, so my Fiance couldn’t afford a diamond. I love it, though. 🙂

I don’t think it should be any less meaningful to you if someone else has a similar gem. Do you have pics of your ring? I bet it’s gorgeous.

Another great thing about Sapphires is that even if you and another girl are wearing the same color sapphire, theyll likely be different shades anyways. Much like diamonds, color can vary, except with sapphires, it’s more obvious. Forget Anna!
