sorry to rant, but I just need someone to listen and give me some advice =)
I did my licencing exam a month ago and Im waiting for my results which is REALLY making me nervous… To begin with Im NOT a good test taker and this was a practical exam so i was even more SUPER nervous during the exam.
Anywas Ive just heard that some else has failed it and when we did the practice test the did A LOT better than me… so now I am anticipating that I might have failed as well….
I know its not healthy to play the “what if” game, but these exams are really important in my profession and if you fail once it pretty much means you will find it difficult to get a job….
Ive studied so hard for this exam and my family and I have made so many sacrifices to get my education to this point that I feel that I am really letting them down. I cant really talk to anyone else about it because I think my family expects me to do really well academically.
I know this is not really wedding related but Im going crazy thinking about it!

Well I hope you are wrong and breathe a sigh of relief soon. It sucks that you feel so uneasy after it. Waiting for test results is so painstakingly slow! As hard it is to fail (just in the chance you did) just remember that it in no way says you are stupid and not a hard worker. If any person conveys disappointment, that person obviously has no idea how much stress this was for you. I failed a test in last yr nursing school once and felt like a complete idiot. I retook it after I unofficially graduated college and then, passed. So I remember feeling like utter crap after a test. Hope everythings turns out great!

@Melie12: aww thanks so much your advice…
I really thought I was ok and was going to pass easily- Im also in the medical field and I usually do really well in written tests and in real life practice, but this exam is really unpredictable and I was REALLY nervous. After finding out that someone actually failed my confidence is now shot!

When are you getting the results?
When I am super nervous, I try to think of the worst thing that could happen. And how I will react. I write it down (like a flowchart).
For example, If I fail the exam, I will 1. learn from my mistakes 2. have more experience for next time 3. not be as nervous, because i know what it is like to fail 4. get together and study with the other people who didn’t make it, so we can support each other
Also think of other times in my life I was really anxious, and how it worked out. I passed my driver’s ed test on the third try! but after the first two tries I was really anxious.

I definitely can understand where you are coming from. I let my nerves get the best of me sometimes! No matter how hard we try, we can’t help but worry. I remember finding out my NCLEX results 7 yrs ago on Friday the 13th and thought that was my omen (I was wrong). Sending good thoughts!!
